Great review! I learned from an Amazon.com question/answer that removing the bowl and putting the unit on a cafeteria tray will help with feeding multiple cats. My cats seem to prefer eating kibble from the floor rather than sticking their heads into a bowl. This is going to work perfectly with 3 cats. I will feed them manually most of the time but this will help me if I need to be gone for more than 24 hours. Win, win, and win! Thanks cat-dude!

This feeder is amazing. I've had mine for over 2 years, It feeds our cat twice a day. Our only problem was that our cat wouldn't eat from the metal bowl because the sound of the food hitting the metal bowl scared her. I finally removed (with difficulty) the black plastic ring that held the bowl and placed a hard plastic bowl with a rim under the dispenser. Problem solved. You need a bowl with a rim in order to have the rim sit above a small ledge on the feeder. Otherwise, the food goes all over the floor. I now, finally, have to change the batteries (4 D batteries). I've looked thru the instruction booklet. The batteries go into the bottom of the unit, but the feeder is 3/4 full. I have to figure out how to do this without turning it upside down. Keep your instruction booklet for this because it does take time to set the times and amounts. But this is the best feeder I've ever owned. Works like a charm!

I was lucky to find a used model on Craigslist for $5. It even came with the power adapter! Thank you for the tip about the bowl. I’m having same issue these first few days with my kitty. Hopefully with purrsistence and love I’ll get her using it without fright.

Based on your video review I purchased one of these auto feeders and I am 100% happy with my purchase, it is exactly as you have said and does change your life when being woken up at 2am every night for a feed. I use it for my Dalmatian dog, so it is equally great for dogs as well as cats. The programming can be a bit tricky at first only due to the vast options which is great but once you have it mastered it is set and forget. No more being woken up and no more worry if I get caught out getting home late. Thanks

Thank you so much for your video. We have been looking for a pet feeder for our want-to-eat-all-the-time-cat. We saw two review videos on this particular feeder; one was a good review and the other one was a bad one; but, in those videos, the viewers did not explain each detail as you did. THANK YOU! In Amazon, there's about 80% of good reviews and the rest are somewhat bad, from about 800+ buyers. Favor... Can you make an update on this video in about four to six months? Just to see if it still works the same way. We are going to order it, but I would like to know if your feeder still works the same way, from when you posted the video. Thank you again.

I've had my Pet Safe Feeder for well over a year and I love it. I've never had a problem with it. I use the D batteries required, so you wouldn't have to worry if there was a power failure in your area. You can order a power cord to use, if you choose. My cat is older and the noise of the food dropping into the metal bowl was deterring him from eating so i replaced it with a plastic bowl. He gets 1/2 cup in the morning at 7am and 1/4 cup in the evening at 5pm. It is a challenge if I'm going away for the weekend and taking my cat. I usually do not take the feeder, but I do remove the batteries so it doesn't dispense food all weekend. I make sure I know where my instructions are so I'm able to set up the program again after putting the batteries back in.

Came across your video as I was looking for some service support. I purchased the feeder a year ago and it suddenly stopped working a few days ago with the error message F02. When I contacted the company they told me to clean it thoroughly and try it again. After many attempts I somehow got the jammed motor to start working. I’m still a little unsure whether it’s working properly coz there is no motor sound just before it dispels the food. Since I’m not from US - I reside in India, I was devastated when it stopped working and the fact that I don’t have a local service support. It’s an amazing product and you rightly said it - a lot of thought has gone into its functionality. How is it working for you now? Have you encountered any problems and if so what type? I have three cats and I’m extremely dependent on this wonderful feeder.

I've been using this product for about 3-4 years now for my 2 cats. It gives me the freedom to not worry about getting home to feed them in the evenings or that they are going to starve because I slept in late. Also for long weekend trips I don't need to bother friends to pass by to feed them. However, I am now on my second unit because of this F02 error and now the second unit has started to show the error. The first unit was replaced under warranty but I don't think that will happen for this one. I'll try to pull it apart and clean it up as the instructions say, but I am not amused about this flaw since it didn't work the first time around.

Can you dispense enough at one time to feed four cats? My current feeder holds 6lbs and they eat it all in a week but it's manual and I'm constantly having to shake the food down ever day. So if we go off I have to set out bowls. The whole thing kind of defeats its purpose! What is the most you can dispense at one time and how many times a day? Thanks so much for sharing! Great video!

You could do a large enough serving size I’m sure. If you can’t do as much as you want you could have it dispense more just a minute later.

I have not experienced this. Make sure you have the plastic ring pushed in all the way. It needs to pop in. Make sure pool is level.

I took mine apart to wash it before use. That was three days ago and I still haven't been able to put it back together. I'm ready to scream and throw it out the window!!!! It may be a good feeder but I'm afraid I may never find out . . .
