I mean you can get a fairly inexpensive hand saw at a hardware store that can cut the hood. I’d say if you kept a lower stock of fish or kept fish that didn’t produce too much waste you should be fine with the stock filter. I’d just keep up on the water changes a bit more frequently, that’s all.

Where do you get time for your Aquarium from and how Do you put your power strip inside your stand to keep it from falling down
@jerminator06883 жыл бұрын
I don’t have the aquarium anymore. But I used to do water changes every two weeks or so. It all depends on how much you do. You can do 10% every week, 25% every two weeks, etc. There’s a trade off for both, whether having to do less water more frequently or more water less frequently (doing them more frequently is better for the health of the aquarium.) I used some double sided adhesive to keep the power strip attached and it did the job and never fell.

How many fishes can you add to this 37 gallon tank? I wanted to add at least 5 or 6 fancy gold fishes in there.
@jerminator06883 жыл бұрын
You can add 1 inch of fish per gallon of water. That is the standard stocking guidelines for any tank. So, for instance, this is a 37 gallon tank, so you can have 37 inches worth of fish in this tank. But you have to take into consideration their maximum size when they are full grown, not their size when you first get them. For example, a molly might grow to be 3 inches. But when you buy them at the store they might be young and only measure 1 inch. So technically at 3 inches full grown you can only have 12 mollys in the tank. With goldfish you have to be careful. Generally they can grow pretty large (sometimes 6 inches.) I wouldn’t recommend goldfish in a tank like this. You need something much larger, like a 40 breeder or above. It would work temporarily while they were smaller, but eventually you would need to upgrade the tank or re-home them as they grew larger. Hope this helps.

I’m pretty sure Marineland and Tetra are the same company. With Marineland being the “high end” line and Tetra being the more “budget friendly” option. Maybe Marineland/Tetra makes Top Fin tanks. That I do not know for certain. But Top Fin is a Petsmart brand, so Petsmart either outsources their tanks to be made my them, or they own or partially own Marineland/Tetra, which the latter wouldn’t make sense because those products are sold in other retail stores other than Petsmart. So I’m curious if what you’re saying is true. I’m not saying it isn’t, I just have never heard that so it’s new news to me. In the end as long as the dimensions fit you could use any cover if you wanted, no matter the brand.
