Petta was refreshing .. I liked kaala and kabali too... But this film gave me the feels , which I didn't see after padayappa and Shivaji. That nunchuk scene was pure goosebumps.. The film had its flaws .. Nawaz and Vjs were under used ...wished to see more.. second half was dull compared to high octane first half. Nevertheless can't wait to watch it again.. 💯 just for first half.

I'm surprised how people can complain about a movie like Petta and not complain about a movie like Viswasam! In my opinion, Petta was the movie Thalaivar deserved and Karthik subbaraj did it so well without sacrificing his style. They promised Rajinism and that is exactly what we got!!! On the other hand, Viswasam despite having a good core message and as usual good acting from Thala was hardly watchable because of the age old template of action followed by emotion followed by a song. I cannot believe Baradwaj rated Petta less than Viswasam 😂😂😂

I will agree with Abishek when he says that entire family gets destroyed but we're unable to feel the pain. Also BR sir said, seriousaanah sequencah romba jollyah kondu poranga I will give another scenario for comparson - Take Theri, where Magendran destroys Vijay's family. Mahendran imposes his power by saying - you underestimated me thinking I'm an old man and cant do anything but I have avenged my son's death. All we get to see here is NS repeating the same dialogue Rajini said and he says it to himself since Petta isnt present at the scene

Abhishek .. changed my opinion on your analyzing skills about movies from this review . Understand few points on Petta regarding the length on the 2nd half or analyzing a particular screen is fine. Viswasam can't be compared with Petta due to the genre of the movies but I personally see a lot of positive points with Karthik's direction on the first half - enjoyed a lot and very much impressed with the ending. Anyone could have acted Vijay Sethupathi role - but i feel Karthik as a director wanted this movie to be called as Rajini movie - we had missed that in the past movies. Either Vijay Sethupathi / Nawazuddin have the capability to make a huge impact that would made this movie talk in different way - that's were the director had the control. If someone else would have acted in VJS role - we would not have felt the impact has what we had at the end. Siva on the other hand - taken an simple story and didn't see much on the first half that has an impact neither in comedy / sentiment / mass - looks a lot of crowd in each and every scene with not much value added to the output. Pre-interval fight was impressive and 2nd half was good . You need to be careful when you are looked upon by many people - no one care's when i share my opinion but you are not in the same state - wish you better in the coming days.

I loved both the movies, despite both of them having flaws. The fact that viswasam worked for me was obviously the emotional connect and most importantly there were no unwanted mass scenes for ajith and also for the first time I felt that lam watching a Tamil movie under Siva direction ,which usually has a lot of Telugu catering scenes. Even in vivegam the making style was really really appreciable but the motto and the hero propaganda made me feel alienated.
