Yes! I see so many negative comments about this one and I just don't get it. I love it and apparently so did everyone else at the theater I was in. Everyone was laughing and cheering, having a blast with this movie. It's completely self aware. Even Chucky is starting to realize how outrageous his situation is.

The last shot of Jennifer's eyes turning green is easily my favorite shot in the franchise, almost wish it cut to black at that part instead of including the Glen scenes. Love this movie for setting up so much later in the franchise, honestly have to appreciate it's weirdness!

This is definitely one of the most bonkers films of the franchise, and I’m happy both of y’all were all for it. 😄 Even despite it shifting more into the realm of dark comedy mixed with soap opera melodrama, Seed of Chucky still delivers when it comes to nice kills and some creepy moments too. It’s amazing what Don Mancini was able to pull off with the film and I’m happy it’s always getting reassessed, especially when it comes to how it introduced such a beloved character in the form of Glen/Glenda/GG. ☺️
@LiirThropp268710 ай бұрын
A lot of people hate this one. But I think it's a lot of fun. It's an absolutely ridiculous film. But it knows it is. That's why it works in my opinion. It's not trying to be serious in any way. And the fact that Jennifer Tilly can poke fun at herself like this proves just how awesome she is. All in good fun. Love that woman so much! ❤

The role of "Pete Peters" was written specifically for John Waters as he was a fan of the Child's Play movies. The TV spots for this movie displays an unusual disclaimer: Britney Spears Does Not Appear In This Movie. This disclaimer was inserted into TV spots because Britney's management was concerned that people might be led to believe that Britney actually appears in the movie. It is not her in the movie; but a look-alike. Quentin Tarantino was originally offered the role that Redman later played as the role was originally written for him in mind. Only movie in the franchise that Chucky does not use his good guy doll voice. Because Focus Features has a reputation for yielding eloquent, "artsy" independent films, the Rogue Pictures brand was resurrected to release this movie The gender confused child of Chucky and Tiffany is named either Glen or Glenda by his parents. Glen or Glenda (1953) was Edward D. Wood Jr.'s film in which Wood himself portrayed the cross-dresser known as Glen or Glenda. The only film in the series that doesn't mention Chucky's full name, Charles Lee Ray. The wife of the man Tiffany calls to apologize to is the widow of the cop she killed at the beginning of Bride of Chucky (1998). Chris Sarandon was approached to reprise his role as Det. Mike Norris from the first film, but turned it down due to scheduling conflicts. This is the final movie in the series to include Chucky's obsession with wanting to get out of the doll. Was originally rated NC-17 by the MPAA and was later released Unrated. Tiffany refers to Glen/Glenda as "Sweetface". In Bride of Chucky (1998), she refers to Jesse as this. The fact that Glen's female persona Glenda being evil is a nod to Brian De Palma's early thriller works such as Dressed to Kill and Sisters. Writer-director Don Mancini admitted having a large influence from De Palma and the movie's unique shot composition and cinematography really show this. And the composer of this movie is De Palma's regular collaborator and composer Pino Donaggio. In the original script, Don Mancini originally wanted the beginning to be Glen having a dream where Chucky kills off Jesse and Jade from Bride of Chucky (1998). Jennifer Tilly was also written to be much more unlikable and cynical to the other characters and Tyler and Andy would've appeared as cameos only to be killed off in this film as well. Mancini based Glen's looks/personality off of a character that Tim Burton would create like Edward Scissorhands because Mancini was a huge fan of his work. Openly gay director Don Mancini, who wrote all of the films, stated that Glen's sexually confused character was a metaphor for his own coming out. The last of the original Chucky movies to be released in theaters, as the sequels Curse of Chucky (2013) and Cult of Chucky (2017) went straight-to-video, until the release of the remake Child's Play (2019). The original title for the movie was "Son of Chucky. Directorial debut of Don Mancini The studio wanted to do a doll Glen spinoff movie after the release of the movie where it was straight up horror movie but Don Mancini didn't like it and insisted on doing this and the next film Curse of Chucky (2013) in the way he did it. This is the first film in the series to feature an animated theatrical trailer. Psychs is the only person to not be scared of a talking doll. Brad Dourif (voice of Chucky) and Billy Boyd (voice of Glen/Glenda) both starred in Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings" together as Grima Wormtongue and Peregrin Took. Jennifer Tilly's lobbying for the part of the Virgin Mary echoes a scene from a Christmas Episode of Family Guy. In the episode, her character, Bonnie Swanson, plays the part of Mary in a play about the nativity. Chucky once again pays homage to The Shining by hacking through a door with an ax. This film re-unites Brad Dourif with Billy Boyd, who appeared with him in the last two Lord of the Rings films. Many of Dourif's scenes were opposite Bernard Hill as Theoden. In Ralph Bakshi's film, Theoden was voiced by Philip Stone, who played Grady in The Shining. This is the second time that Chucky tries to possess someone who is African-American. Here, it's Redman, while the first was Tyler in Child's Play 3 (1991). Body Count: 12 When Glen becomes human, he keeps the photograph Chucky took of them from when he indirectly kills Pete Peters with sulfuric acid. Glenda could only emerge from Glen when the boy was under extreme distress. But Glen was able to find the courage to kill Chucky, which made his father proud. While now retired as a serial killer, Tiffany implies she slips up on occasion. Having murdered Glenda's nanny for wishing to quit after becoming afraid of the child.

Still my favorite from the whole Chucky universe, including the show! It's chaotic, camp and self deprecating on purpose. So creative, well made, full of references and hilarious! It's not given the credit it deserves. Billy Boyd was PERFECT and worked great with the icons Brad and Jennifer 💜 I'd love to see some BTS from their voice acting 😢

I would like to recommend a very good film for you to watch, the name is "The Normal Heart". I don't know if you've seen it but this film is exciting and very interesting. It talks about the lives of queer people in the 80s in NY at the beginning of the AIDS crisis and talks a little more about this discovery and the struggle of these people to be seen by the government that at the time ignored the emergency situation

I love glen/ Glenda and even with this movie being bonkers you feel for them so much. I saw this movie in bits as a kid (was super scared of Chucky but was curious of horror movies cause my parents wouldn’t let me watch) but in a way I think it spoke to me because I didn’t have the language to say I was nonbinary but I always felt the same way glen/ Glenda did. I wanted to be a boy but I also felt like a girl as well. Can’t I be both? ❤

I just wanted to know a bit more about them. They sound like great down to earth guys. They are very entertaining to watch.
