LOVE Petula Clark, Have done for 50 years. She is amazing. Sounds amazing, looks amazing, a wonderful example that I as a mere 73 year old aspire to. If I have a perpetual artist that I admire. It is Ms Clark. Long may she continue, and enjoy her life, doing what she seems to love and do so well. XXX

This is a very good interview. She has always been so good to her fans. It moved me at the end when she was taking about her fans. I've seen her in concert many times and she has taken time out to see me many times. I will forever hold these memories in my heart. There is no one like Petula Clark!!!

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. There is no one one like Petula Clark. She is UNMATCHABLE in everything she does and as done. The best female vocalist that I have EVER heard in my lifetime. Yes I have heard many who are really,really great but for me Petula Clark is the best by a the length of a Marathon and then some. I will forever be a lifelong fan of this magnificent lady. Thank you for being the soundtrack of my life Petula.

What a great interview. I remember when Miss Clark became popular in the states with two memorable songs, which are: Downtown and Don't Sleep in the Subway. She's not only an amazing singer but is equally as humble.
@cottingleybaby8 жыл бұрын
She tells Alex " I am just a singer nothing else " that says it all , a living legend who this country has never really recognised and given the status she truly deserves , she has sold more records than any other British female some 70 million plus .

Petula performance of Gainsbourg 'Flash Back' is fantastic. But nothing can match her self penned 'Things Bright and beautiful ' under the name Al Grant . This woman's voice makes me tingle right down to my little toe.

Great interview, however, the visual cutaways - holding the mic and various shots of hands - are a curious distraction. But comps on holding the mic in one hand, in the same position for 30 minutes.

I think that Petula was just being her own humble self and if she had said "I think that I am better than Dusty(I in my humble opinion much prefer Petula)as a singer" she would have sounded like a bit of a Diva which of course Petula isn't so she was very gracious in her thoughts there

Did she ever make an Xmas album during the 1960s. 1970s or 1980s?

Yes Damper she did it is called Christmas 🌲 in London.

Beautiful and attention capturing songs she made during the 1960s. she never had those huge comeback hits during the 1980s like other 1960s stars did. If there is great talent out there it is never heard. adele is hideous like the rest of them.
