Love the vids glad I sub'd. When mentioning "edible" it would be helpful to note the flavor profile

Their website say they boil the blooms for a drink that tastes like cherries and almonds.

Me before working at a nursery: Flowers are dumb, you can't eat them. Me after working at a nursery: I must place petunia pots on every flat surface I have!

Tried the balcony mix from you guys in 2022, those were an absolute showstopper all year even in the oklahoma sun and heat. Got to save lots of seeds from them to grow next year. Also added the giant alba superbissimas to my seed stash this year and so excited to try them out and save them as well.

The petunia painting at :28 is by the great artist Georgia o'keeffe. I have seen it in person at a museum, and it is absolutely stunning.

Didn't mention anything about the "edible" part in the title...just that they were used in research to discover a compound that may facilitate flavorings.....are they actually safe to eat then? Good for tea?

Yes, the blooms are safe and very fun- to eat. They have a pleasant herbal flavor that makes them great for salads- . We use them to make colorful syrups that we add to drinks (such as the sparkling drink in the video). Some also describe the flavor as being reminiscent of cherry.

Which variety was the edible one? Do you sell it? Is it as easy as infusing it into a simple syrup?

All of them are edible and can be infused into a simple syrup or used for edible garnish, salads, and the like. They have a nice herbal flavor!

I’m looking for a variety that is highly fragrant and will reseed itself. How fragrant are the cherry flavored varieties? I’m growing old fashioned vining petunias and these would look great in my planters.
