Petzl RocTrip China 2011 - The official movie

Last fall, from October 26-30, 2011, more than 600 climbers gathered with our team for Petzl RocTrip China. All participants discovered and enjoyed more than 250 brand new pitches on unbelievable limestone especially prepared for the event.

Among the highlights of the film, watch Dani Andrada's first ascent of the extremely difficult 7-pitch Corazon de Ensueno (8c/5.14b), a route he put up in 2010 over the course of two trips to the area to prepare for the RocTrip. For this outstanding feat, Dani was awarded Climbing Magazine's prestigious Golden Piton.
Other sequences include Steph Bodet and Arnaud Petit sending their project, Lost in Translation (8a+/5.13c), Gabriele Moroni's first ascent of Coup de Bambou (9a/5.14d), as well as other images of spectacular climbs up and down the valley.

Have only just watched this film for the first time. Really like how whoever has directed it has made the music feature in the narrative of the video, whilst, of course, being blended with culturally Chinese tones. this is some brilliant film making right there. I'm not into climbing at all, it's not a topic I'd normally watch a 23 minute clip of without getting bored - but this is so enthralling, so brilliantly made that it didn't occur to me for even a second to stop watching. it's simply one of the most beautifully and ingeniously edited shorts I have ever seen. and this is coming from someone who studies animation an watches tons of so called creative shorts every day.

This is so good. It feels like you had a vision of the complete film, and you went out to get footage of that, whereas so many films feel like the final vision comes from the footage first. I think this is the best climbing video I've ever seen. Seriously. I totally dig how it starts out with those drums, and then the cars and everything moving to the beat. Great interviews, excellent shots of incredible landscapes and rocks, clips of my favorite pro climber, freaking amazing cinematography, fantastic music and rhythms - I had to get out my drum box to play along as I watched it.
