My first car ( 1961 Peugeot 403), wish I could find one now. Remember being stopped by NY State police often and told to" put some air in those tires" as Americans were unfarmiliar with Michelin X radial ply tires. Also remember the "town and country" horn," four on the tree" shift pattern , sun roof and fuel filler hidden under the left tail light.

Tough as old boots apart from the sills which were the first part to rust. A great winner of the African Safari Rally and I managed to bend a British Rail car-park angle iron…noproblem

I was too young to experience the 403,but I have driven the 404 & 504s. Very nice cars. How was driving the 403 like? I would like to know...

Why is the steering wheel on upside down? My first car when I was 17 in 1969 was a Peugeot 403 brought back from Saigon by a U S soldier. It was the same blue color as this car, engine appears the same. I paid $75 for the car in Amarillo, Texas. Drove it all summer and sold it for $110. It was a fun car!

It depends on your preference to use the horn. I do not think the wheel is upside down, but in this case the horn is situated for someone who keeps his hands at the 2 - 10 position on a clock, sort of speak... The one you bought was probably set for someone driving the lazy way, with his or her hands low on the wheel. :)
