Absoloutely fabulous series. Thakyou so much for going to the trouble of producing it. All the very best. I have a wheel chair acces Scudo 2008. I'm, somewhat daunted given the amount of effort you've obviously put into this and the outstanding result. Once again, fantastic!

Glad you've enjoyed - it's been quite a learning curve, not only building a van but also learning how to edit videos. It's certainly been keeping me out of mischief during a period when I've not been short of free time. Hope all goes well with your own conversion.

The noble on the wheel arch is for mounting the spare wheel, internally. My WAV Expert had it done this way.

Ah, hadn't thought of that explanation for the nobble! Thank you.

I have the spare wheel mounted this way on my expert.

Hi Gayle, I’m just about to start the exact same conversion, can you tell me if I have to change the use on the insurance to camper/day van. Really enjoying the series so far, you have shown me what to look out for
@GayleEBird2 жыл бұрын
I insured it from the outset as a campervan, initially with an 'under conversion' endorsement on the policy, which was removed when we completed the work. Some policies require you to update the insurer every time you add another item to the conversion, but my policy only required me to tell them when I had completed work and what the final value was. Hope your conversion is going well.

I can't find the place in the videos where you are using a product to free nuts/bolts.... what was it called please? Really enjoyed seeing your progress. Bought a Expert WAV yesterday.

That product is called 'PlusGas'. Hope you have a good time doing your conversion, and happy travels.

Hi I am doing the same conversion can I ask what quantities of insulation and sound deading did you buy?
@jennifersnell54972 жыл бұрын
Hiya, do you think the sound deadening is absolutely necessary?
@GayleEBird2 жыл бұрын
No, personally I don't think it's necessary. My thinking: this vehicle was driven around for years as a car (i.e. no bulkhead separating front from back) and I doubt if, in that time, anyone batted an eyelid at the level of noise coming from the panels. Plus, the panels on a vehicle of this size are, save for the roof, fairly small with a reduced (compared with a big van) capacity for creating resonant noise. Added to that, the insulation we added will have reduced any noise reaching the inside of the vehicle. I was dubious as to whether to sound deaden, but decided to err on the side of caution and went with a mid-range option. My opinion having used the product was that it did make a difference to the amount of noise generated by each panel, however, I still doubt whether it was a big enough difference to make it worthwhile and I certainly wouldn't consider it to be essential. Unfortunately, it's one of those things that is almost impossible to gauge with any certainty unless you run two identical vehicles side-by-side, one with and one without deadening applied.
