Hi Mike - not sure if you already have a 3 wheeler - but maintenance costs are certainly higher than a 2 wheeler, but that's the trade off with better grip etc. I've been a bit unlucky with my Metropolis as I've just had to replace the ECU - out of warranty which has not been cheap to say the least - but that is just one of those things. Bottom line is and i should do a cost of ownership video sometime, if you exclude the ECU - the 20,000 miles and 2.5 yrs of ownership has cost me about £2.2k...But I've not missed a day's travel to work and parking which for me is free (on a motorbike) would cost me at least £100 a month...If I had done those miles on my V-Strom - it would probably have cost me more like £800..But cleaning that through the winter would be a total pain in the butt....

Thank you for an in depth/owners honest opinion! I dont own A 3 wheeler yet, but considering it. I have a somewhat fear about French & Italian brands.... And since i live in Sweden, there is salted roads november-march. £2.2k over 2.5 Y in cost of ownership, thats like 25% of the price brand new! But, as you say, (really) this 3 wheeler is a handy tool for commuters. And I would love the ride.....

Hey TWD. Nice to see you back after a while away ! Tell me, how's the Metropolis for going up steep hills? Quite hilly round my part of Surrey. Really thinking bout getting one when I can sort out the finances!

Simon Wolf - should be good to get up most steepish hills at 60 - but you really need to get a test ride on one.

I was amazed on how well it goes up steep hills, i live close to the Alps, no problems, just great fun!

MAXrider Thanks - no have sold that and have a 2017 V-Strom 650 - which suits me much better!

Three Wheel Diaries The V-strom is an interesting looking bike, I have thought about one for doing a bit of touring. I didnt keep my MT07 long either, changed it for an XSR900 after about 8 months. I liked the 07, it just felt a bit like a hooligan machine! I hope you’ll find time to make some V-Strom Vlogs, I would be interested to see them! Ride Safe.

Why would you put any inner DB KILLER fffkkk that, even the back one has to come off mate. Your killing the exhaust with all that junk. Why buy a pipe and put all that in, just leave the original one on the bike. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
