Naw I disagree…if we re sign CG we’ll have 2 receivers over 30 on roster…If we weren’t motivated to give him long term deal pre injury why would we give him one now…I say we sign him to 1 year deal and he has another great year and someone gives him multi year deal after next year…Luke and Zyon coming up we give CG multi year deal over 25m/yr we’re not going to be able to pay them

And both of the injuries he suffered were direct impact type injuries, not something that just gave out running or cutting. They're not likely to reoccur just because they happened before. Jason Licht knows what we've got. He'll do the right thing, just watch.

Reminds me of the Lloyd Benson quote I know Chris Godwin and You Sir (Jalan McMillan) are no Chris Godwin. I’m excited to see Jalan breakout the last Quarter of the season and his production is similar to CG rookie year but for very different reasons. BA just wouldn’t play CG. JM just hasn’t shown me enough to think he could be a CG replacement. CG is the straw the stirs the drink.

Scott is absolutely right. The Bucs should be all in for a championship run in 2025. The offense has really grown and the absence of Godwin has really created the opportunity for Cade Otten and Jalen and Bucky to emerge. They are already a top 5 offense. If they could just get an impact edge rusher to couple with Yaya Diaby and a relatively healthy secondary they absolutely could compete with the elite teams. They are just a few pieces away and Godwin does so much with tough first down catches and blocking.

I think an inportant, but invisible on the statsheets part of Godwin's play is how he's able to consistenly bring in Bakers full speed passes on the intermediate level, which makes them able to operate with tighter windows, which is a huge asset, especially on 3rd downs. Also, according to overthecap Godwin already has an 18-19mil cap hit for 2025 on a void year. Would it he possible to "use" that in an extension-restructure? So even with a 20-25mil a year new contract his cap hit for 2025 would not change much (just kick the can down the road a bit).

If Godwin was on any other team, he'd be wide reciever #1. People who dont watch the bucs dont realize how great he actually is because Evans usually overshadows him in media, but Godwin is capable of a 1,500-yard season. It hasn't happened only because Mike is out there, but he's eclipsed 1,300 yards in a season despite this. Could you imagine how scary our already great offense would've been had Godwin not gotten injured? I say lock him down with a long contract so he can retire a Buc!

I believe that if they can sign him to a contract similar to maybe Mike Evans. I think there's a good chance of him being back. Chris Godwin has shown and proven that he can come back from a injury and be very important to the offense. I also would like to mention that I would keep Antonio Winfield Jr Out for the saints game. And if the buccaneers can improve their defense enough to stop the other teams in the playoffs with our offense performing the way it is and has. I think we have a good shot of going to the super bowl. But like you, my confidence in the defense isn't where my confidence is in our offense. And that's the problem. It makes me sad that it doesn’t make much sense to bring back Chris. He is the most underrated buc of this era. He can get a final bag for more money somewhere else, while McMillan can succeed him here in Tampa. I’m sure we can spend the money elsewhere on the team, but if Chris wants to come back on a fair deal, we would have a disgusting receiver group.

It would be a crime against humanity If the Glazer family didn't find it in there heart's and pocketbook to make sure they do everything possible to keep CG. He's had 2 heartbreaking injuries, and just got him back, The Real CG, just to lose him to a hip drop tackle, at the end of the Ravens game, he shouldn't have been out there playing with a few minutes left and Evans shouldn't have been playing either due to his hamstring injury he suffered against the Saints. JMac has more growing and learning to do and having CG around only helps his progression. The way injuries have hurt almost every part of our team, can't let a guy like CG walk. Get CG a contract, I can't see him in another team's uniform.

Unpopular opinion. Godwin will be 29 and had 2 major injuries. I love Godwin as much as the next person, but it wouldn’t be a smart move to pay him huge money. He was on track for a huge pay and may still be expecting that. Yes the ankle dislocation will heal, but will the ankle hold up when he is tackled over and over again. How can we say a dislocated ankle isn’t serious? This is a full contact sport, he is going to be taking hits and a lot of unordinary tackles. Evans has avoided major injuries that’s why we can entertain him at this age. Godwin has unfortunate luck with injuries and you want to bet on him not getting hurt again?

Well, CG got his knee taken out on a dirty tackle by the Saints in 2021 and was the victim of a hip-drop tackle vs. Baltimore. Those were two fluky injuries. It's not like he's injury prone outside of those.

Remember it took Chris almost a season and a half to return to form after his last injury so hopefully we dont overpay for him to return. We have Jarret and Culp alongside Mcmillan, Otten and Durham that can help with production over the middle. However we do need to start looking for our future #1 WR to replace Mike. Our main focus this offseason should be fixing the defense MLB, S, DB, RUNSTUFFER ETC.

Sadly CG got hurt because Bowles was trying to do too much. Instead of being aggressive on the offense, Bowles should have been tougher on the defense. Oh well hopefully he can make it back should the Bucs get far.
