In this episode I perform a compression test on the M114 inline six engine in my 1968 Mercedes-Benz 250 W114 series 0,5. This is a step forward to start-up.

I have confused the enigne code in this video. The engine in this car is of course a M114. The M130 is the 280 which I have in my 280 SE. This is one of the problems with having too many cars I guess 😁😁👍👍👌👌//Peter

This engine is good man, yeah ok cilinder 3? but i think it is ok! I am a w114 115 serie lover! in my situation i like the w115 200 automatic on the Floor year 1971 so serie 1,i don't know the number from the engine but i think m115. Thank you for This vid!!!.

02:00 I have exactly done this mistake in the past ! Result : a nice oil puddle on the carpet, that was impossible to clean. I spent several months to find the right carpet on the internet... and spent money stupidly to buy a new one ! Then that's a very good recommandation to check this before starting the engine.

I've done the mistake too, but then I've mostly gotten the oil on my clothes 😁. Sorry about your carpet... //Peter

You might include the mieage and date of the test. After the engine is run for awhile the rings may seal/seat better on #3.

Hello Peter, I think compression tests will be better when engine is on operating temperature, not cold. Maybe some oil aditives can help, for example first engine flush and into the new oil metabond, ceratec or something on this base. Very nice video and happy new year Peter, I really like your videos.
