I know he only played a few seasons but as a Cleveland fan I have much respect for this man.....I think he deserved more respect because at his size, speed and mobility he was unstoppable........ More respect? He was on the cover of Madden FFS. I'll always look back at his time playing for our Browns fondly, but after that 2010 season his attitude was shit and it rubbed me the wrong way. It's a shame he didn't keep it together and get a coach who knew how to use him. He would have been a great 2nd running back to get anywhere between a third to half the carries

Behind, th you mean. He was the biggest reason dmac and Jones had all that space to run. Played fullback, hb, te, returned punts, and had the best hands on the team. He unfortunately was a classic fullback, in a game that was rapidly changing, and leaving the position in the past.

@@heatherphillips5983 What? he was the biggest reason? Not multiple All-American Shawn Andrews or future NFL Hall of Fame Jason Peters. The entire O-Line was very good and we played Peters at TE. Hillis was actually the leading receiver at least one year and split out wide or played in the slot quite a bit. Hills was a good not great blocker.

I've always been a Razorback fan,so watching him in college D-Mac and Felix Jones got most of the carries but when he dod get the ball he was fun to watch!

His top speed probably isn’t that great, but he accelerates like crazy, maybe as good as anyone. Could be a skill he’s tried really hard to master.

It isn’t bad. 4.58 I believe is what he ran at 240 lb. Plenty fast enough considering all the running backs who run in that range.

Ask Felix Jones, and Darren McFadden the min reason they gained so many yards in college, and became first round picks, they'll tell you because of this guy. They should've moved him to tight end primarily, with some fullback, he'd probably have played longer.

@@walkingtallbloodhounds4500 Payton Hillis was a RB in H.S., TE in college and then a RB in the NFL. Not to dismiss Alstott. He was a beast, but Hillis could run over people like Alstott, and then avoid tacklers in the open and catch the better.

@@heatherphillips5983 Houston Nutt. 😭 The team was too predictable, could never pass when they had to pass. Hillis arrived on campus a year before McFadden and was nothing compared to Mc Fadden. McFadden is the greatest all time Razorback, hands down.
