I know he only played a few seasons but as a Cleveland fan I have much respect for this man.....I think he deserved more respect because at his size, speed and mobility he was unstoppable........ I hope you get well soon, mother nature is something else but you are one that can hang with that.....Much respect bro and I hope you get well soon!!!!!

More respect? He was on the cover of Madden FFS. I'll always look back at his time playing for our Browns fondly, but after that 2010 season his attitude was shit and it rubbed me the wrong way. It's a shame he didn't keep it together and get a coach who knew how to use him. He would have been a great 2nd running back to get anywhere between a third to half the carries

Behind, th you mean. He was the biggest reason dmac and Jones had all that space to run. Played fullback, hb, te, returned punts, and had the best hands on the team. He unfortunately was a classic fullback, in a game that was rapidly changing, and leaving the position in the past.

@@heatherphillips5983 What? he was the biggest reason? Not multiple All-American Shawn Andrews or future NFL Hall of Fame Jason Peters. The entire O-Line was very good and we played Peters at TE. Hillis was actually the leading receiver at least one year and split out wide or played in the slot quite a bit. Hills was a good not great blocker.

if he had played in the modern nfl, he would have been a fantastic player. he kinda reminds me of a poor man’s Derrick Henry that can catch and jump better.

@@iralewis4674 You never do running like he did. Ask Felix Jones, and Darren McFadden the min reason they gained so many yards in college, and became first round picks, they'll tell you because of this guy. They should've moved him to tight end primarily, with some fullback, he'd probably have played longer.

@@walkingtallbloodhounds4500 Payton Hillis was a RB in H.S., TE in college and then a RB in the NFL. Not to dismiss Alstott. He was a beast, but Hillis could run over people like Alstott, and then avoid tacklers in the open and catch the better.
