Peyton was my hero growing up, die hard Colts fan. A couple years after he retired, I was driving for Uber in downtown Indianapolis. As I was picking up my passengers from a hotel, Manning comes walking out. Against my better judgement, I ran up to him, shook his hand, asked for a picture. He was more than happy to oblige. He is definitely an exception to the rule!!!

As a Husker fan, here's how I'm putting it: We aren't back, but we are back on the road. The bus has gone through maintenance. The steering wheel has been realigned, and now it's time to drive home. It's a long road, but we recognize the neighborhood, and it feels good to be in familiar territory. To be truly back, we gotta execute like we did against UTEP and then some, week in and week out for a full 60 minutes of football against each and every opponent. Colorado is our first big measuring stick for what this team is, and what it can be. This Colorado game feels very much like the season opener last year in the NFL for my pro team, the Detroit Lions. Their game against the Chiefs was a statement game, and after that game, everyone was put on notice that the Lions are for real. This can be that statement on Saturday for the Cornhuskers.

What do yall think? I think if Peyton came out junior year and went to Jets, that he would have been limited by Parcells. Bill wouldn't have let him become Peyton like he did. First off he wouldn't have allowed constant no huddle. He wouldn't have allowed that many passes each year. And he would definitely have benched him that first year and Peyton needed those 28 picks to become who he was.

I won’t lie. The yell leaders come off corny. But you can’t knock us for having 40k show up every Friday to get the juice going. It’s nice when some old players go or the HC shows up and gets the boys going. But you gotta admit the place gets loud. Also I’ve never heard Connor talk like that before this season. It’s a bad deal for us.
