Jill has been a very good mama, from beginning when she came there lugging her baby, and suitcase, willing to work any job,even asking Ron to work in his shop. I was impressed, right there, just so she could take care of her baby. She's been a very genuine person. Norman and Rita are a cute couple. I had thought Rita would be best choice for foster mom, even before she mentioned it. Rita is the type person you want as a friend, has a good heart✌🏽

Just making Norman and Rita 'foster parents' on the spot? I thought it was odd that Kelly would simply be handed over to them for the night (without any vetting), but now the judge simply says 'okay, Norm and Rita have never applied to be foster parents. There have been no background checks, references, or any formal application procedures, but I'll just let them take this baby until further notice.' Aren't Norm and Rita only about 19 or 20 years old anyway? They seem responsible enough for their age, but as the plot with the Winters demonstrates, a lot of problems can be hidden.

Terrible. Separating mother from child. At least it is Norman and Rita who will look after the child.

Fair to say none of us like Jill but, she's been a loving mother. In 1968 She was always referred to as an "unwed mother' with an "illegitimate" baby on the show. The judge was very old and those stigmas have been with him forever. At least Kelly will be with loving people for now and not farmed out to who knows where.

+Michael Doran I haven't perused this episode before replying, but where exactly is Kelly at the moment? I mean, who is she staying with? (I have a reason for asking......)
@sandykaye90532 жыл бұрын
Unwed and illegitimate were stigmas that held some people down while allowing others to be proud of themselves for following archaic traditions. All babies are equal whether their parents are married or not. Those two words should be stricken from society

what the hell take away baby from the mother, when there is no serious reason, how this judge would feel if he was himself given away, or his children, it always irritates when people with "too serious mugs" like him think they are clever enough and talk with authority, like they are the ones who got thorough knowledge because they hold position with power, I met hollow figures like him and only value they have is their cloths and tie
@soapsnthings41829 жыл бұрын
democolor42 You're right. There was no serious reason to take Kelly away from her. It's not as though she was neglectful or abusive. It's like they were sending a message saying if you're an unwed mother, you're unfit!
@Woof486 жыл бұрын
I don't see it that way. She's a "single" mother with an inadequate source of income and a less than desirable place to live. She is unable to offer safety or security to a baby.

@@Woof48 She also left her baby at the cafe to be found by strangers, and Kelly was malnourished. She then lied to get her adopted by strangers. A temporary placement seems reasonable.

@@kopachuk08 Yes. The child was suffering from malnuitrition and was just given to the Carsons under false pretenses. I think the judge is being fair. Give her a chance to get her life together.
