Grease Monkey - The FMS RC Toyota FJ40 Custom

The project is pretty much done so here's the final result and a quick recap on all the mods I have made including the animatronic driver.
Recap:
1: I bought the FMS RC FJ40 to make an ultra scale vehicle.
2: It broke on the 1st run.
3: I decided to strip it down and make it the Lemon.
4: I slept on it and decided to spend time making it look cool and gave it a test out.
5: It surprised me with its performance so I spent more money and time on it.
6: It was really fun to do and I love how it turned out.
7: I made a few vids.

Drill a small hole all the way through your drive shafts and put a pin through it. Secure the pins with a bit of solder or CA glue just enough to prevent them from coming out. Really nice build.

The taller roll bar should save you some headaches with the duds head out on the trails! The shifter was a cool idea and adds a bit more animation to him. It is a very cool creation and so far from the original! It definitely looks the part of a beat up old trail rig that has been hacks and chopped to be very a purposeful rig! Looking forward to seeing it out on the trails, hopefully the driveshafts are not a pain to find!

Glad you like it mate, I pretty much tightened the clutch to its limit due to it constantly slipping so I expected it to stress things further down tbf, I will swap them out and turn down the ESC punch to see if I can find the sweet spot. thanks for watching bud

That thing is sick!!! I grew up (and still do) riding 3 wheelers. You roll them enough times to crack a fender, which always ends with the inevitable amputation of the now parasitic other fender 😂😂 Anyone else have issues with the front cv axles joints having the pins come out? Got a secret fix?

Thx, I used a portable spot welder and put 4 tiny plates over the pins to hold them in place.

@@Pezzapoo that is one tiny weld to make! I took mine apart last night to have a closer look. Of course, both left and right universal joints had the pins hanging out of one side. I was able to remove them completely by hand. Took em out, looked at them, stuck em back together. But now that they were in a random orientation, the pins were seemingly tighter and I had to "press" them in with a pair of channel lock pliers. For all I know, they're as tight as they were the day I took it out of the box. Probably a good chance they'll come loose again, time will tell. I've only driven it up and down the furniture indoors for a few minutes cause it's raining and kind of snowing outside (beautiful Southern California day in the mountains @ 4,000 ft elevation lol)

i filed a claim with BBB after grees munky charged me 65 bucks for an oil change and when the guy didnt take the tip i was sus af. went home and checked it. dirty oil and old filter. manager told me they have tv to watch them. bottmline i left every used oil container from my oil changes for a couple years on thier door step
