PF Mathews is an author and screenplay writer for movies. He has also written several television serials and collection of short stories. Ee ma yau, the movie written by him was hugely popular. He won the national award for best screenplay for the movie Kutty Srank in 2010. His two novels Chavunilam and Iruttil our Punyalan are very popular among readers. Death happens to be a recurring theme in his novels.

Getting to know a magical realist like PFM and his offbeat non commercial brand of literary interpretations may prove to be more of a highbrow moment for lay audiences..but his unmistakable intellect would be evident for the discerning. His morbid fascination with "death" and his subjective writings that he hopes would leave him a marked legacy of his own, are thought provoking. Finding joy n happiness in every fleeting moments and smallest of things PFM seems to transcend the need to dream big n lofty. Interesting persona.. but not one that would resonate with the masses !
