Darlene, the Pfaff top of the line machines have a great feature with regards to the start/stop function, the start/stop button works with the foot control plugged in and if you start sewing with the start/stop button you can use the foot control to stop keeping both hands on your fabric, anytime sewing if you start sewing with the button the moment you use the foot control it takes over, it is seamless and a wonderful feature on the Pfaff.
