I've been waiting to see the neon get going for quite a while now. I have a soft spot for Honda's which is why I love this channel and the boostedboiz but DSMs and SRT4s are the main reason I got into cars so I love seeing when they actually run right

And 3/4 shift fork, and shift selector.. I broke even a DCR shift fork. To be honest I never broke an input shaft but I never ran super sticky tires. I broke the trans so much my friend had bought be a shifter with shift stops so if stop breaking the thing. Lol

Needs to learn to engage clutch properly and shift slightly slower instead of trying to rive it in so fast obvs your co ordination needs to be spot on.sometimes just pays off to just slow things down slightly!? I noticed wen Brent or Jaimie tests them it changed fine👍🏻😂😂 defo should of gotten Cleetus in driving it he's a miles better driver than kyle👍🏻👍🏻

Those srt 4 Neons loved to break. Neons overall were pretty reliable for such a junk dodge though. You still see Neons on the road in MN. Always liked them.

Before people start neon bashing just remember their engines can produce high hp all day long fairly reliably. However the aftermarket support for anything transmission related for these cars is just garbage. 10 years plus messing with neon engines, and the transmissions is what made me rage quit lol.

Once The Curse is all ironed out with that auto trans it's going to be a ROCKET!! Those transfer gears are a mother to replace but once they are in that trans will be ready to rip! Now all you have to do is get a few pairs of solid Axle Shafts because they are next lol... Jaime You are the MAN BROTHER!!! Keep doing what you do and it will all work out eventually!!! There is a guy out here in AZ that has a SRT4 / Auto Swapped Mini Van that runs high 10's so the curse should get there with ease!

The two holes in the gears that aren't threaded are for holding the gear when tightening/loosening - easy tool to fabricate back in the workshop.

I bought one of those small jump packs that fot in your glove box, its a life saver. You guys should get a couple. Mine was only $100 and it has usb ports and a flashlight, no need for long cables and another vehicle to jump start.

When i first started watching PFI I love hondas but owned a 98 Neon with the 2.0 dohc so when the curse was on the show I was glued to what ever you did so I could get mine going. Puller might not be needed. It might be like a bmw water pump. Just thread 2 bolts into the holes and they'll push against the casing and push the pulley off the shaft

The srt4 should have been awd from factory .... I recall reading in a motor trend 15 years ago or sumthin like it that the SRT 4 neon was only a second slower in the 1/4 than a stock vette of that year .... kinda cool for that fact .... a awd neon would be a game changer

They almost made that car. After the Neon srt4 went away Chrysler made the caliber srt4 with 285hp from the factory, and there was an AWD jeep compass In the works with the same 285hp engine, but the economic crash happened and Chrysler went bankrupt so they shelved it.

damnn, i still have my srt4, blown axles about 8x times now. ive finally gone dcr axles, but ive never stripped the gears tho. im only at 340hp, those srt4 are strong. lots of ppl take em lightly but they hold their own. skittle power
