In the process of doing the exact same thing myself. Really looking forward to the EA golf game as it seems to have everything. But then again EA knows how to advertise but deliver something completely different. Fingers crossed it is what it seems to be.

Only your my player at the moment. You can set up competition though with societies.

Does it require persistent internet to work ? Or does it work offline as well ?

If you have decent internet you should be fine. I haven't actually tested if you can play offline. I am always connected

Lacking? I’d say just a few more big name golfers woulda been nice. But overall the game is solid. Fun to play against ur buddies and lots of modes and courses.

@@Jamesgravalos fun to play agaisnt buddies if you have the same console. No crossplay, no ranked play built into the game. They put more time into the clothing and special golf balls than the online aspect of the game. Todays gamers are online gamers, how do you miss that in 2 years of developing a game?

Societies is the game mode ur looking for. I’ve been playing MP with a colleague all week. We are having fun.

@@Jamesgravalos imo the users shouldn’t be needing to create the ranked play aspect of it. There should be a default ranked play like every other online game out there that has competitive play. It’s whatever, I’ll stick to 2k21 till they launch the next gen in 2 more years.

Short game is broken , splash shots in the bunker are broken, and the rough is impossible to hit good shots out of it, a lot of time to get it right on the golf club games and they fuck it up on the first instalment of the 2k version

Yeah, dont mention anything about the new 3 click system, which is the BIGGEST NEW FEATURE in the game, and the only reason I am getting it. Analog swing is just PURE GARBAGE.

@@Jamesgravalos And what I don’t like also is having Michael Jordan and Steph Curry in the game and try to make this basketball thing game. Why don’t they have like the old time players like Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer It’s almost like that made it a golf game but with a basketball field to attract basketball fans to golf and that’s just stupid

@@Jamesgravalos It’s also a great way to teach people the history of the grain as then people start googling that player and they start learning about it. Golf is one of those supports stating tradition it would be even really cool to play the old courses with the old equipment so for instance you could play the masters of 1966 but you had to use the old clubs didn’t hit the ball is fine. Now that would be cool. There are so many ideas that could’ve been put into this game. I’m actually a pretty reasonable golf, I played off 6 handicap. What they should’ve done is got some decent golfers together to actually give the import into this game and trust in it would’ve been very different
