I just noticed a crazy pattern: The second place finisher in the PGA Championship in 2017, 2018, AND 2019 won the Masters the next year! Patrick Reed finished tied second in the 2017 PGA, won the 2018 Masters. Tiger Woods finished solo second in the 2018 PGA, won the 2019 Masters. Dustin Johnson finished solo second in the 2019 PGA, won the 2020 Masters. That means either DJ or Paul Casey will win the 2021 Masters. I would guess Casey since DJ just won, but idk.

Koepka actually has the balls to dominate fields. 5 wins and 4 of those being majors prove that. He just needs to find regular tour events he can win or at least contend at every year. Majors are important yes, but being an American and winning 11 events with say 8 of them being majors is a good career, but this guy has the stuff to be great. Hopefully he can incorporate the major mindset during the non majors. I dont think people give Jack, Tiger, Snead, Palmer and the others enough credit for their regular tour wins. There are 10 American golfers with 40 PGA tour wins and at least 3 of them being majors. Tom Watson and Gene Sarazen have 39 wins though both recorded 8 and 7 majors in their tallys. 4 majors is great, but international players of the past have those numbers not playing every week on tour. Take nothing away from his nerves of steel in the big events, but come on Brooks.. lets rack up 4 and 5 total wins over the next 6-7 years on average..
@bradcarter54035 жыл бұрын
@Pure Couples i find that hard to believe. The winner of the Honda classic bags $1.2m or there about. The memorial pays what $1.6 and wgc events $1.7m. Who in their right mind plays those events and doesnt want to be the winner? Ill tell you who.. no one. Not any professional golfer ever to play thats who. To say a player doesnt care if he wins the events he enters is ridiculous. You cant tell me Koepka would rather have 6 wins with 4 majors or 12 wins and 4 majors. When he finishes career he will want more wins than just majors. Trust me. Every player wants to be the greatest and him not winning stuff like wgc events, the memorial ect will tarnish his legacy. No one in their right mind would think different
@bradcarter54035 жыл бұрын
@Pure Couples are you delusional? Its not just money.. its putting your name with the greats. You cant tell me anyone would rather win 200,000 rather than 1.7m give or take in a tournament they are already playing in. That is the dumbest thing I have heard all week. A player enters a tournament and would rather finish in a place that pays a couple hundred thousand rather than 1.7m. Its a tournament he is prepping for, spending a week away from home and putting in the work yet he would rather make 200 grand rather than 1 million plus??? Granted I am not saying that he cares by not winning.. that may be the case, but to say he doesnt want to is insanity lol. And if he doesnt play every tournament he enters to win(which I think he does play to win) then he isnt the mold of a champion. Nicklaus, Snead, Hogan, and Woods played every tournament with the mindset to win and if any player does not have those intentions 1. He does not deserve to be talked about with the greats. 2. That person isnt one I am telling my kids to watch play. But again.. Idk nor care how Koepka feels when he does not win regular events, but I do think he wants to win every tournament he enters. Its extremely sad if that is not the case. But I think you are mistaken from his words. Its just dumb saying he would rather win 200,000k rather than 1.7m when he is already at the tournament. Golf isnt just judged on major championships. Another delusional argument. If Rory wins say 30x with 5 majors he will have a more complete career than Koepka winning 10x with 8 majors in my eyes. I want to watch a player who competes every time out.. not just 4 weeks a year. Again, I stress that i do not believe Koepka isnt trying to win every tournament he plays.. I do think he wants to win every week he plays no matter the tournament because he has the work ethic and I can see it watching him play
@bradcarter54035 жыл бұрын
@Pure Couples no one is denying him winning majors. He has won 4 of the last 8 lol. But he isnt the first with those sort of numbers. Koepka is probably my favorite to watch over the last few years. But he wants to win every tournament he plays in. Why bother showing up if not? If he wins 10 career tournaments with 8 majors he will not have fulfilled his potential. Period. Most of what is wrong with pro golf is the world only tunes in 4 weeks of the year. When in reality there are so many more tournaments worth mentioning with fields just as deep at any major.
@bradcarter54035 жыл бұрын
@Pure Couples oh and Els and Mickelson if google isnt working for you. I have attended every Memorial tournament since 1999. And with that field and that course in front on the greatest major championship winner ever? Koepka wants to win those events. Trust me
@bradcarter54035 жыл бұрын
@Pure Couples they all prepare for the upcoming majors. Jack and Tiger were notorious for building their schedules for the majors. Koepka goes to these tournaments with the mindset to win. How else would one prepare to win a major by not playing to win? I get what you are saying.. the majors are important to him. But they have always been important to everyone especially those with 7+. But dont mistake his words. Sure he is there to prepare but he wants to win those events too.
