In this video, we see how to extend the range of missions using tankers assigned to specific missions.

@@elyal-darzi7628 Yikes, I work full time so that is going to be a bit too tall of an order. Maybe during the quieter months of summer I can take a crack at it depending on what my contracts do.

Hi - so I'm curious why based on setting the 'max number of receivers in queue' to 2, did only one tanker refuel all 4 at a time. When all 4 aircraft got to refuelling limit, wouldn't all 4 try to book one, but then have 2 decide they need to choose the other? I guess my expectation based on the description would be that both tankers would be needed to refuel all 4 aircraft (2 each) each time. Thanks for the vids!

Can you redo Black Buck One or does C:MO not include aircraft load in fuel consumption calculations?

hi awesome video, one question, I do not see you doing any refueling command on the F-15's manually, I assume that is automatic when there is a refuel support mission in place with the tankers? what if there is no support mission and I only have a tanker located there?
@PGatcomb

As long as their mission has allow refueling, they will automatically track down fueling when they need it.

Hi, can you explain better the box with ‘Receiver starts looking for…”. It looks like even if I set this to 10%, fighter goes to the tanker with more than half of tank left. I don’t understand the calculation you made, why did you substract 55 from 100, where is that number from and how did you know that 45% is the right percentage so the fighters dont go back and forward in a loop? Can you somehow explain me written, maybe I understand better how to calculate the right position for tankers and settings. I hope you can answer me, I am having big troubles in trying to set up efficient refueling especially in patrol missions, planes ignore the mission and go to refuel even with a lot of fuel left in tank. Thank you in advance.

Control and D will allow you to measure distance. You want to measure out the distance where you will be at exactly half a tank. You want the refueling ship to meet them at that point.

Thanks for video I set it exactly as you did but I used F22s instead and same distance. Thing is the tankers would not come and meet me when my planes are low on fuel. Once the raptors got to the tanker area refueling mission zone the tanker then would leave its mission area and fuel off the raptors then return back. The raptors then go drop bombs and but then on the way back they run out of fuel and die because the tankers would not meet up with them because they just keep flying in their Refueling mission zone.

This can be a little tricky to debug through comments, but my initial thought is that it has something to do with what percentage they are set to get more fuel at. The other possibility is that someone else "booked" the tanker and the F-22s could not recover fuel. The way to check this out is by attempting a manual refuel (right click on the F-22) and seeing what they say when you order it. You'll know immediately.

@@PGatcomb Ahh okay I think I got it now. Also another question if you dont mind. Would you happen to know when I set a land strike mission to drop laser bombs or JDAMS on targets like buildings. Why does the AI dive in on the (attack way point) even though I lock the altitude to 36000 feet for that waypoint but they still seem to override and start diving down to 2000. And No I do not have any enemy contacts set just a regular bombing mission.

@@voidwalker9223 There are two main reasons for this, the first being that the laser that guides the LGB has a very limited range (usually 10,000 feet or less on legacy lasers) and the laser needs line of sight with the target to fire meaning that clouds and terrain can block it forcing the aircraft to dive to engage. The trick here is to hit shift+F1 and manually attack a target to check why it is behaving in this manner. Another common reason is that auto attack will force the aircraft to follow its doctrine setting for that loadout, often involving diving to low altitudes for more accuracy.

@@PGatcomb Yeah It does it for both GBUs and JDAMs and I tried it with random planes like B2, F16s, F15s ect and they all seem to do the same thing. I looked into my settings but cant find anything in weapons release setting or mission setting or such that would change anything on why the AI should dive in when attacking. I tried seeing if they drop without a mission and do it all manually with manual waypoints and they dont seem to have a issue dropping at 36k and holding altitude. So i guess it is somewhere in mission settings? its not a huge deal but I would like it so my aircraft dont end up getting turn up by AAA or SAMs when they drop in when they can simply just fly above target and bomb without worry of getting hit! If you have any time just set a quick group strike mission on a enemy building with any GBUs and set the way points so they only seem to attack at high altitude and stay that way after bombs are released. But either way thank you for your time and replies I learned a lot through your tutorials.
