While I really appreciate your instructional videos, I got completely lost when you started explaining the flight planning. The extra example of things not to do up front made it hard to understand. The straight forward example of entering the SIDs and then waypoints would have been a little easier to follow I think. The SIDs made sense but the waypoints before it were a complete fog. I haven't watched the rest of the video yet but plan to.

After watching several videos on the same topic, you explained what I needed to know: the ways I can clear the discontinuities. Thank you! This was extremely useful! I had no idea what "vectors" meant. I know what it means in physics, but this is not physics. Most KZbinrs say"load from simbrief and you're done!" I wanted to know how to do it without simbrief. I'm on xbox, I don't think I can use simbrief.

I'm pretty sure you entered the payload in the block line instead of the fuel load. The block is for the fuel, is it not? Block should be 20.6. Also I would suggest a climbout speed on the autopilot at V2+15. V2 is minimum single-engine out speed and offers less maneuverability than V2+15, which gives full controllability. So in this case it would be 162kts.

Agreed, but still the numbers for me don't add up. The fms calculates 250000 lbs gross weight where the pad says 259000 lbs.... When you check the vid for him the fmc reports 239000 lbs while the pad reports 259000 lbs!

if you fly the sim since '98 probably he is right on the point with the speed (and you have the option to pause the vid any time).

Try going to SETTINGS / Playback Speed Set to 0.75

Great tutorial dude. I was huge into flightsim but have been away for ten years. New PC and two young kids who love avition have me back. This tutorial series has been a huge help since I enjoy the more complex study level aircraft. Used the PMDG 737 in FSX and P3D but this is a great freebie. Slowly getting spun back up and back on Vatsim but have the learning curve of this aircraft.

Rubbish tutorial. When he selects "next page" it goes to the next page. When I select it, it says "Not Allowed". BTW I watch this at 75% speed, it makes it go at the talking speed of a normal human.

How do k format the gross weight into the fmc? The plane tells me the weight is 219935 and the total gross weight on the fm is in the 000.0 format. How do I convert the number 219935 into the fmc?
