@@c_sparks_1002 I mean not super high but also not as low as you think. Drains are obviously at a lower point so everything would funnel into them and then it’d be pretty easy for a ball to fall in there. Really doesn’t make sense to not just have smaller drain holes

I had that happen to me today. I hit the fairway or just off it, but I could not find my ball. I eventually said heck with it and dropped one where I thought it should have ended up.

That’s the worst feeling. You know you hit a great drive but you don’t want to spend 30 min searching for it. Somehow it wasn’t in the fairway where you hit it.

A group of us scratch golfers all hit down the fairway dogleg right over trees and upon walking up couldnt find 1 single ball.....after a few minutes of disgust one of the guys threw a new ball down in the fairway and as the ball rolled to a stop we all stood in disbelief as a cat ran across grabbed the ball and took off to a yard nearby...... LIKE WHO trains a damn cat?!?! Genius

At my home course we have 150 yard poles in the fairway, I know most courses do, and you can remove them just by pulling them out of the ground, well I guess someone had done that on a hole when I was playing with buddies and we watched my friends drive go right down the center and once we got down there it was just gone, ended up being in that tiny little hole

Local rules provide no relief. We localsmen know never to hit it directly in the center on that fairway.

I’ve done this before at a pretty decent country club. I hit it right down the fairway on the first hole and found my ball at the bottom of a drain and couldn’t get it.
