Unfortunately his realness led to his downfall as well. Life is about having fun but your career needs balance. Focusing on fun takes away from the things that need just a bit of order. Athletes are different from regular people because they sacrifice the fun because of the hard training and focus that goes towards their career. I had a US Navy polo shirt on when I asked JD for his autograph as he walked off the 18th hole of the 2nd round at the 2011 Wyndam, he told me to follow him to the practice putting green...took out a sleeve of balls signed them all, gave me his glove signed "thanks for your service! -John Daly" And asked if I wanted a picture with him...thought that was pretty awesome of him!

It’s very sad, however he will have stories and memories others can only dream of. Who’s to say that he’s lived a worse life than someone who constantly works out everyday after their 9 to 5 job and goes home to a tofu bake is any better. Oh, and to add one more thing, when he won the Open at St Andrew’s (possibly the most unsuitable course for his game) makes him a genius in my book, and the UK love him.

Before I play I listen to “hit it hard” really loud to get in the zone. My favourite amp up track of his. It sums his whole life up really.
