Really enjoyed your video thank you. Started my ITT and PGCE in Computing secondary in September and it's been 7 weeks now. I'm starting to get the hang of planning, teaching and studying after getting over the initial feeling of out God l can't do this. This is too hard!! . It was information overload at first with all the training and new Covid-19 guidelines but its all come down a bit. One tip l would give any new trainee is GET A DIARY there will be a lot of meetings, dates and deadlines you will have to remember and a diary will help you keep track of it all. All the best.

Aw I'm so glad to hear you're getting into the flow of it, it is definitely daunting at first but it can be done! I absolutely agree with the diary, particularly if you have lots of different zoom meetings and links to remember! Thank you for watching and commenting xx

I've just been accepted onto a SCITT programme. I'm just wondering if you could potentially do a video on what to wear as a teacher and where to buy the best clothes. I feel as though I'm browing loads of websites but not actually finding anything suitable
@PetitePrimary
@PetitePrimary 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Samantha, congratulations on getting into SCITT! In terms of clothes, many of mine are old as teacher outfits are the same as my own personal style so I've had these since A-levels etc. I've seen a lot of lovely outfits from New Look, H&M, George and TU. Not from experience, but I've also seen people buy things from ASOS and Shein too. Hope that helps xx

I know everyone on a pgce course says that the workload is alot but do you actually get to enjoy your weekends? I am planning to move to London and do my PGCE there but also enjoy the city. Do you think that's possible or will I be struck studying all the time?
@PetitePrimary
@PetitePrimary 3 жыл бұрын
It's hard to answer really. Some people have managed a PGCE alongside a weekend job or running a family. I found a lot of my weekends were quite full of planning and making resources but it depends on your time management. If you managed to prep a few lessons in advance and start your assignments early, I'm sure you could have some weekends free. It can just be draining after school sometimes so personally I liked to do it during the weekends. So many factors play into it though so it's hard to give a definitive answer I'm afraid. Good luck on your move though!

@@PetitePrimary Thanks for getting back to me. I was also wondering how did you get tested on your maths and English. They scrapped the "skills test" and I was wondering how they checked your skills? I appreciate it so much if you could answer that.
@PetitePrimary

I was given a previous SPAG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) SATS test as well as a maths one. They also asked me to write an essay prioritising certain tasks which I'm sure allowed them to see the accuracy and speed of my writing too. Hope that helps 😊

@@PetitePrimary are these the tests they give to year 6? When did you sit these and how did you revise for it? I have been out of education for a very long time and I am quite anxious.

Hi, how long did you spend observing classes ?
@PetitePrimary
@PetitePrimary 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question! The majority of the first week is spent observing but you can try and arrange observations in other classes or other year groups at any time really as you'll never teach 100% of the time xx

Petite Primary I am going to start volunteering at a primary school before, I’ve never had previous experience in a primary school setting, do you have any tips? X
@PetitePrimary
@PetitePrimary 4 жыл бұрын
@@rcs.tf89 Try and ask the teacher if you can work with a variety of children because sometimes they'll want help for specific children, but it's a good idea to experience all levels, SEN to above age related expectations. That and ask questions. Good luck xx
