I agree with most of what you said except for "just 1$". The thing is: 1. The difference in price scales, it's +1$ for every 5 $ you spend. So for the 5$ pack you pay 5 + 1 = 6$ But if you buy 100$ you actually have to pay 100 + 20 = 120$. So if you plan to play for a long time and spend more it sucks a lot. 2. It's not like Kuro wanna charge extra because they want to. The extra free depends on your region's financial situation. Like Steam for example, a 40$ game in US/EU might be only ~30$ in some Asians country. That's just how it is, nothing you can do.

@@Rexlent its wild to this day... people doesnt get the 1usd drama, for a lot of people wasnt about the extra 1usd if not because to buy the monthly pass u needed to charge not 6usd if not 8,99usd or 9,99. People were hating the fcking constant tricks of the current gaming scene, if the monthly pass was 6 usd direct to the game and no through RC probably the drama could havent that big but who knows with the drama baiters. Just as a side note, azur lane one of the most friendly gacha out there, their monthly pass is like 8 usd or 8.99.

PGR is my first Gacha to actually survive years of time played Idk why PGR just hit different While yes Meta obviously exist especially with the Time stop era, but at the same time Kuro somehow make it so you are encouraged to play everyone, and i mean *EVERYONE* Many gachas usually just ignore the old characters, Kuro somehow just went "Yeah no everyone is viable, just give us time to fix the old characters so they can fit current gameplay", also you arent even being forced to race other players, you are just getting your ass kicked by the game Also, bro PGR designs hit me HARD, especially Rosetta god her design is SOOOOO rare in other anime games(With the other i can even think is Herald from Xenoblade 2)

I played for the gameplay because the first time I've got it I was in hyperfixation of dmc and trying to find one with same gameplay in playstore. Got this bad boy as first result, downloaded, think I might uninstall it after try it for minutes. It's been years I'm in pgr hell hole now and I don't plan to leave. The sound of parry and entering matrix is just so goddamn satisfying.

The issue is that guild and co op are pretty dead in the global servers. You can like the game but it was their fault for not releasing this on pc. Also, powercreep and the lack of BC are a huge issue in PGR, you cant deny that.

I like to think that because of the 1$ situation, Kuro deciced to not mess with global releases and just copy what was launched in CN. I still remember being majorly disappointed because that move, to me, signifies that Kuro would just milk the global audience. I became scared about the game'sfuture, thinking it was gonna be a pay to play game like Tower of Fantasy(what a shit game) and so I didn't play this until the Haicma update. For people who does not know what ToF had became, anything below whales had nothing to do. Farm resource? Needs p2w/whale for faster(3 minute or less) farming. Events? needs P2w Boss raid? F2p has no business being in a Raid. But, Kuro maintained the state of being "F2p friendly" to my surprise. What makes this game unique is that premium currency earning of ALL players are about the same. Sure, you will get clapped on competitive events but there is no "tangible" loss for f2p except lower resource reward unlike other gacha games like Honkai Impact that rewards players more premium currency the higher the player's standing.

Wtf are you even talking about ? F2P doesn't mean free of grinding and still meet whales lvl of dmg. Difference between you and the rest is 80% your gear, which come from grinding and long term play (weekly bygone for gear mat). Advancement barely matter now, most new weapon have like 40% difference between A0 and A6. It does have powercreep but the content powercreep doesn't happen nearly fast as much. You can totally clear everything being f2p outside of frontier clash evolution which even whale struggle. Game is MMO and seems like you're asking for a solo game but even then, with world lvl, you can solo everything if it's what you want. All newer weapon are good at base and have passive effect scaling on bad substat to help new player. Dmg in the new region mostly depends on tower lvl than your gear which is tied to exploration. No raid ever have been a dps check issue and even less now a days as raid boss are all mechanic and doesn't even require dmg weapon. That's so ironic saying Kuro is F2P friendly but F2P get clapped by whale in competitive event with no tangible reward when it's the exact same scheme as ToF. Difference is PGR guarantee you every new character each patch while on ToF, you used to need A3 so you just focus on 1 elements but weapon are now good at A0 A1 (higher advancement only give survivability or exploration QoL, basically A0 or A6 but not in between) so you have the rest income for every new weapon. Most people still like to compete and still have that mindset of focusing on 1 element and I think that's where your issue is. You want to compete in ToF because it's an MMO but you don't in PGR, if you wanted to compete in PGR, you'd have the same opinion for both.

I mean, to me the 1$ debacle sounded insane. 1$ was no sign of anything close to them trying to nickel and dime the global playerbase. Especially when you have to consider exchange rates exist, and the fact that here in the west Google and Apple are almost certainly yoinking a bigger cut of the revenue than whatever App Store is used in China (because China mandates their market to have open program storefronts). Couple that with the knowledge that Kuro themselves weren’t a big dev and anyone with a level head looking at the situation logically would be like “yeah that sounds about right.” Now that being said, I’m no economist, but IIRC the official exchange rate of the pass back then came out to a weird number and/or sub $1, comparatively the on the Japanese client I vaguely remember the pass being more closer to the US pricing but still on a weird spot because the Yen value was basically ranked back then (and is still trying to recover today.) Taking that into account alongside generally that people selling stuff, especially here in the US, ideally prefer the numbers to end in either 0s or 9s, it’s not too surprising for them to bump the cost up about 1$ so that the number stays in line with how everyone else sells stuff instead of having something weird like 1.47$ or smth. Now with all that being said, I’m not here to antagonize you when I say this, it’s just my general unabashed opinion that people that are so quick to attack a company (or anybody for that matter because this could easily happen to say an indie solo dev or Twitter artist) need to take a step back and actually calm themselves down to consider the other’s perspective instead of letting their emotions run rampant because they incorrectly think they’re getting fleeced.

So even if your account is F2P, you can just play it for the weekly mission to get the gacha currency. Lets say like HI3 now that's what a P2W competitive, the higher rank you're, the bigger gacha currency you get. Most PGR hard content is a PvE tho and skippable, they didn't really put too much gacha currency in their hard PvE content.

@@zechross I know how PGR works, doesn't mean his point is valid. 99% content in ToF isn't hardgated to whale, yet that's how he pictured it, something really P2W unclearadble for F2P. Further more when competitive mode are mostly leaderboard with insignificant reward just as in PGR. Only leaderboard that give gacha currency is Bygone which doesn't even give a pull/week if you finish top 1 of your bracket.

I've been both f2p and whale on mmos and gachas(and whatever warframe is). I don't really care if a whale throws their entire life savings into a single gacha but it gets annoying when they can't seem to shut up about it. for f2p, on one hand I think its impressive how they can clear certain difficult content without spending but they can also get annoying when for whatever reason they start shaming those who actually spend on the game.

There was a post on a certain gacha's forum about how he's account is ruined because he spent some money on it so it's no longer FTP. Personally I respect whales more then FTP players since they help support the game I like.

I agree with everything tashman said in the video except one. One of his major complain of the game was that it's too hard and that's why he don't play it. Okay sure, that's a valid complain for most new players. But as someone who's been asking difficult content in Genshin and play for the sake of meta so he can make content on it, this just comes off as an excuse or hypocritical even. This sounds like bullshit for me. I've been playing PGR for like 3-4 months and i can say, at the last at the point where i am, the game is not difficult as it seems. It's indeed harsh to go Pain Cage and get one shoted, but it's not even that hard to understand the game either, most of bosses has like 4-5 moves...saying this is difficult is purely player lazyness. He literally don't want to play PGR, he started saying the game was too hard, then procced to say the game is dead (the game he has 0 knowledge about it btw). He don't want to play difficult content, he want to complain about things he knows will never change because it generate clicks.

My friend recommended this game as he started playing it on PC couple monthes ago. He left and I'm still playing It. The thing he didn't like was the inability to build all elemental teams and lack of guidance. But honestly, I wasn't reading any guides which led me to pick up Ember from selector because, I simply liked the character and spending loads of serum into random memory farming instead of just farming event currency. Also wrong memory placement and so on. But It didn't stop me from farming WZ and PPC every week to stack BC for my first new strong character which was Scire. I've started on Haicma and so far I have only 2 strong Omns and 3 strong Uns which is enough for clearing most of the challenging content.

Currently on NA I'm temporarily skipping balter for the sole reason that I want to try and get SSS hyperreal with weapon and pet because I genuinely like Lee as a character and hyperreal has such an amazing design/playstyle. I did the same with Nanamech and I while it felt great getting tops in fire warzone for a bit for my ranking I dont see the need to flaunt it, I just like big robot and I want big robot to be good.

I still remember that first drama and another drama. Deep inside i was worried that PGR wont be reaching a year or EoS before anniv, because honestly i love PGR, im craving some fast-paced action RPG because i've been playing GBF for 7 years and im so done with turn-based genre, even now. PGR is what i have been looking for at that time, im surprise by how fast it is and didnt even think that mobile game can reach this level of intensity. I tried other games but still thinking that its not fast enough. But look at where we are now, reaching 2 years and the game still going despite not making top 10 earnings. Im so glad that my worries didnt happen, and hopefully not soon.

I don't exactly whale on the game, I just enjoy spending on the things that seem worth it. Like BP and monthly cards for serum, BC and weapons. So far in my 7 months of PGR I managed to get everything I wanted, tho not on the highest levels. So I got strong characters but not too OP. I think whales are super toxic cause they no longer find joy in just playing the game. They pay for everything and... well the game plays itself. How is it even fun when your SSS+ Alpha just clears everything in one combo? There is nothing to push them so they vent on silly stuff and laugh at people who don't have what they do in order to, I guess, feel better about their purchase? Point is, never go full whale, you can easily lose passion for the game. I like how Rexlent never uses buffs for norman or goes super harrd on babel. That is the mindset to have when you have OP characters, you need that push from the game or your mind will grow bored and you will get toxic. At least that's my humble opinion. PGR is great and I am having great fun. Now back to grinding materials for Rossie and Liv... and then their leaps... Bianca is carrying everything in that phys team of mine.

Why people in pgr even get an idea of complaining about whaling or being ftp. There is no pvp. The only competitive modes are wz and ppc with almost none rewards for being in top 1%. Many ftp players sit in hero wz. Whales in legend get 400 more points per week, meaning they almost can buy 1 more memory reso per month because the 3rd one costs 2k. Many ftp are in top 10% of ultimate ppc which gives enough skulls to SS every upcoming S rank for free. They can even have it by being in top 30% due to the extra skulls from new bosses. That’s probably the last gacha game to complain about such things. Who the hell even cares, just enjoy the gameplay.

I disagree with you on ONE part, when you said "well if you are a new player then you have to get all this (talking about all the characters at SSS with bis stuff)" no you don't, I started four days ago, joined a guild to help me grasp how the game works in terms of how to use your currency etc. I got my Balter, her sig BiS memories (no reso yet) and I'm having so much fun, FOR NOW at least I don't need anyone else and by the time Hyperreal comes I'll probably have enough currency to SS him and get his sig. Some people need to realize that just like any other gacha you don't earn everything in a day or a week, you need to play, invest some time, get familiar with the game and its currency system and how it works then slowly build it up but most importantly play the game to have fun otherwise why are you playing even? If you are having fun you will eventually catch up with all the reruns etc.

I think the hardest part for a new player is the fact that you hear about how the game is f2p and you can get all the best characters and whatnot. But then when you start and ask people about getting S characters that were released before you started playing they just go "tough luck, don't roll on any banner except 100% release, focus on the future", and I'm just like "well, I guess I will never get characters from before I started playing them, rip Vera Garnet, Bianca Stigmata"

Well I started to play PGR in global like half a month ago? and I have had a lot of fun with the game, specially the boss fights are pretty good and forces you to pay attention? Even in Genshin and Honkai Impact I feel like boss fights are too dry, but PGR bosses are in another whole level, you feel almost like if your are playing something between a Ninja Gaiden and DMC, with some bits of Dark Souls, for me PGR is one of the most underated games out there. I think that its bigger flaw are the first 9 or 10 chapters these require a lot of patience and investment on your part and although these present the basic premises of the story in a coherent way are kind of "so so" written, but as someone who reads a lot (I like to read spi fi and Fantasy novels, from Dune to Lord of the rings) I have no problems reading, actually I am happy if they give me more to read. But I can understand why other people wouldn't like it. However I have to tell you that PGR's Story is good in general and it has a lot of potential, I would say that for me the best written chapter so far has been Nanami: Starfarer's chapter, it is a master piece from a literature perspective, sadly the following chapters despite being more entertaining to play because each chapter is better desingned from a gameplay perspective than the last one are not as well written as Nanami's chapter, or at least the premises and stakes are not as high and heroic, I mean practically Nanami saved the world on her own, every victory since then is because Nanami opened a path to the future... But whatever PGR is a weird game for weird people like me. :V

We basically had the same experience and thoughts regarding the writing of PGR. Same with the perception on PGR's boss fights compared to Genshin and HI3 and the feeling of DMC and a bit of Souls combat mechanics. I'm also used to reading, and believe that PGR generally has good to great story and writing. The start is just meandering which I also often read on novels as well. Also enjoyed the Nanami's chapter a lot! It gives me Edge of Tomorrow's vibe. PGR despite the writing tropes (not clichés) which is common in literature, are well-presented enough. Not boring black and white morality, or too much power fantasy. It's really the opposite of how I feel in Genshin's epic adventure fantasy vibe but the problem is it's full of unjustified deus ex machina clichés and too much power fantasy. Still like it though. Being said, would really love some voiced narration and acting for PGR.

Yeah that would be great, some more voice acting, however later chapters are way better from a gamplay perspective it fuses narration with gameplay and even in game cinematics much better. For me Nanami's struggle in the time loops gave me the same vibes as Paul's struggle with his own foresight visions in DUNE.

It was about the monthly pass, back then the game only had 1 monthly pass plan at 30 rc and the pricing of rc was odd compared to cn. You had to spend 6 usd to get a monthly pass (1 usd 6 rc pack + 5 usd 28 rc pack), when in cn you could just get a 30 rc pack. Later on, kuro added a 28 rc monthly pass

Hi Rex I'm here in your channel since d1 and this is _MVPO_ _My Very Personal Opinion_ eheh this game 2 years ago presented itself as one of the best gachas around and above all highly f2p friendly, currently things have changed for the worse with the addition of the SS3 nodes it has become much more oppressive to play than in the past. I still remember when I played Plume with his 5* S rank and I managed to stay at the top in both ppc and wz... now it's no longer possible. For a new player without spending the chances of growth are very low due to the total impossibility (almost) of having luck in gacha. I personally play from D1 and have never taken a character outside of 60 pulls. In addition, Karenina Scire arrived and completely destroyed the balance, those who spend literally score hundreds of thousands of points more than those who don't, but all the other teams will be like this too also I would love to be able to have Bianca SS3 but for me it's impossible unless I decide not to get Hyper Lee in 2 patches from now, and this not only affects the score but also the fun of using this character.. Can I also add my opinion on the time stop? it's a mechanic that is conceptually good but hasn't been balanced correctly. How do I say it? just look at characters like alpha who with such a beautiful and varied kit end up simply playing spam ulti without using its full potential. The PPC therefore today is less important than 2 years ago where by making yourself a SS character you reached the maximum now SS is simply the minimum necessary for S in most cases you lose too many points and essential mechanics. A new player simply starts playing where if he doesn't really shop a lot he will really struggle to find short-term satisfaction where all the old characters are no longer 100% guaranteed and therefore it is no longer possible to pull us except in the appropriate banners, but also in in that case they won't do it because the black cards will be calculated to the cent to make you take the new character, all the old A rank farmable at SSS+ with the interlude will no longer be of any use and the new ones won't even be farmable in that way since they won't will be added to the interlude. You say "who cares" well I can also say that those who have so much money to "invest" in this game it's normal that they don't care, I who was first F2p and then I started buying the monthly I'm starting to feel again once how limiting my spending is also starting to become and I have to be 100% honest if I will no longer be able to remain satisfied with the performance of the game despite this I think I will have to come to the conclusion that quitting is the best thing to do. PGR and Arknights are the two games for me I have spent a solid amount on just trying to support the game. I really hated reddit at time of launch had a lot of other games toxic activists who made a ton of drama oh that a whole 1$ Oh f2p can't guarantee the skin gacha currency is scarce and million posts of anti/pro global accelerating schedule. Oh they deducted 1 thousand bc and replaced it with a skin. They started examining every part of the game. I'm a new player and I absolutely do not mind a smaller community that enjoys the game. Yes, it is a massive grind if you are not willing to mortgage your house for gacha but the game is fun regardless. In the current state of affairs online, it's better to have a dedicated player-base than go for the lowest common denominator and have your PR in shambles due to petty drama. The wallet-flexers deserve the cross though, there's no doubt about that; absolutely no sympathy for classists who value people's worth based on income. Global release does not grab me into it so much because I can't grasp what is memories or how resonances work because I play HI3 and it was simpler than PGR plus there was not much of a contents. So I dropped it like 3 weeks. Then after watching your CW gameplay with twins boss, it urge me to try it again plus I just finished Elden Ring and I know this game have that kind of difficulty and on fast paces too. It was fun and thrilling. I'm glad they improve so much, the story, gameplay even Lotus still can be use on WZ and damn music just so good. Now, with PC Client, I will stay for good. The mobile version also pretty optimised than most gacha games I played. I already drop HI3 and Star Rail while they got the flares but it not the same as PGR did.

I dropped honkai because I memorized the character combo and can play it without looking. I like pgr because of its randomness. guess I was playing honkai too much.

Honestly as someone who has been playing gacha games since high school, I really do not mind that. Whales keep the game servers alive as well as want to be competetive. F2P has their limits so everyone should be aware of that fact. If you are having fun, then play it as it is. Being a toxic person either a F2P or Whale, you do not belong to the community. Nuff said.
