Amazing review Chase! I've got one of them and I was checking your review to learn different tricks. Btw, I de love when the magnet clips in on the 11:04 hehe

Almost a decade since this bloke convinced me to buy a Filson bag (which is still my daily carry and love), he's got me to 'add to cart' again! It's amazing how he's able to turn the most mundane topic into riveting comedy. KZbin gold.

i couldve missed this in the review, but how heavy is the flex? my main issue with my peter mckinnon bag is just how damn heavy the thing is, even with no gear in it

Bro that’s insanely heavy like 3 kg without putting anything inside, I returned it back due to the weight

Hey Chase, great review. Could coment confort wise how these compare to Shimoda bags?

Great review! Do you if the side access compartment on the FocuX and Flex are large enough to be able to access a gripped or pro size body attached to a lens (i.e. Canon R5 with grip and 24-70 f2.8L lens)? Same question for the top load for the Focus? Is the camera bag deep enough for a gripped body with a L-Bracket attached?

Great review, thanks! Non removable belt = no go for me. Having used PGY's other bags, + Shimodo, Tenba, & Creative Summits... I'm still looking for the perfect bag. If the Flex had a better top access that you could put one of their small cubes in, I would've already bought one. Love PGYTech's innovations and quality, but will go back to my molle-covered range gun bag with good top access while I await v. 2 :D. Love their new color schemes, the forest green was a bit much. Add a 2nd access to the new Cubes and modify the OneMo to accept them with both side and top access... keeping the modular shelf and expandable back... perfecto! Thanks again Chase... I think this is the first time I've commented, but have watched your reviews for years.

Chase, when you mention hiking, I miss my home state of Oregon… Do you ever miss PDX? I wonder about the weight comparison, in case you are going backpacking for a few days or a thru-hike.

Don't miss pdx too often, but I do miss a few of those restaurants I loved... and the verdant greenery.

I might be able to use one of their camera cubes in my E35 😋 I saw their ad for these bags a long time ago... Took a serious look at them and decided they won't work for me. Way too complicated and strappy. A thousand ways to strap stuff to a bag? It would be a nightmare to get to anything quickly. Feels like they want the bags to be for everyone but end up falling short everywhere.

Would it be possible for you to provide the dimensions of the side access compartment? I'm trying to determine if I can access a gripped camera body (or pro size body like the eos 1DX) with an attached lens using the side access compartment. From what i read on the kickstarter page, the depth of the inner compartment is 180 mm (7 inches), however I'm not sure if the side access compartment is the same size.

how do you think the Flex stacks up against the Shimoda bags? They seem to be targeting a similar audience.
@chasereeves5 ай бұрын
Yea, great question. More of a robust/breathable back panel. The Flex in this vid has the expansion/strap-on side of things which is unique. The Focux is more similar to the shimodas, but with a removable sling. I've always gone back to shimodas so, we'll see what happens with these in the coming year for me.

Can we compare to Shimoda?

Harness system looks similar to Osprey antigravity system. Think this is the first photo bag with mesh panel plus rear acccess. Shimoda is regarded as the most comfortable outdoor photo bag. Curious how the OnePro compares too!

For a "hiking" camera backpack, companies really need to simplify the design and use much lighter materials so that it weighs a lot less. That is why I'd rather use a generic camera cube and put it inside my Mystery Ranch Scree 32 or my Big Agnes Ditch Rider 32.

Non-removable waist strap ruins it. That 25L green bag looks like it could scratch the itch but come on with that waist strap. I'm about to look like a single father with 4 kids in my late 20s... We're going to need a city bag version for this one boys.

I bought one and returned it back.. the bag itself is like 3kg for 40L without carrying anything. That’s too much burden on my feet😢
@Battlem0nk3 ай бұрын
If you look at other popular photo packs like Shimoda X40 or Peak Design 45L Travel. They are about that weight after you account for camera cubes which are also heavy by itself.

So much of their stuff is borrowing HEAVILY from peak design. Nice to see them coming up with their own designs for things that isn't just a copy.

This honestly just looks like they copied Shimoda this time. Even the front harness bag is just the Shimoda top loader…

@@petesustaitaable Agree, as a Shimoda user, I dont back on their project. It may be more comfortable than Shimoda Explorer v2, but it is too bulky on my point of view.

@@chiu2003MOBILE I was hoping someone would notice the Shimoda similarities. I got my Action X to travel mostly. The Flex is really interesting, but that harness system is too beefy and the non-removable belt is also a non starter for me.
