reading the description, i thought it was pretty stupid. it took him what, 300 years to realize the truth. but then after watching it, i could see the merit in it. i loved the part where england just watches him. it's like he was saying 'that's why i didn't want you to be independent, lad. i don't want you to know and experience the world for what it is. i was only trying to protect you'

It's been years. Comments on this video are either 5, 4, even 3 years old now. And years later I suddenly got the urge to watch this cmv again. Let me tell you. It's so weird. When I first watched this I was still in my childhood home. I had just discovered cosplay after having to stay in bed all day due to a broken leg. At the time this was the awakening of a world I had never experienced before and it was beautiful. Honestly. These were the people who moved me to a point where when I had lost ballet, brought me back to a place where I could find interest in something. They showed me it was okay to cut my hair short and dye it. They showed me a world of animation I had never put interest into before. They showed me that I can still dress up years later and play pretend. And all those feelings and days of fascinated obsession came cramming back into my head. It was such an amazing part of my life some days I wish I could go back to it. But I need to also remember that now, years later, I have now seen countless amazing anime. I've finally gotten to a point in my cosplay exploration where I've got so many wonderful people following me and supporting me on Instagram. I can look back on this video and cry because I am no longer in that stage of my life but also realize that I've just gotten started. I've come so far skill wise since then and I'm just going to keep getting better. I just hope that one day, I may be able to inspire someone just as much as these wonderful, amazing, beautiful people have been able to completely change my life around from something with little meaning to who I am today. This video means more to me than most can comprehend. And who knows. Maybe someday, if I'm really lucky, I may be able to meet the people who made me who I am. ☺️

You know rewatching this, I figured out why I love hetalia so fucking much, people who don't really watch it think that it's just some silly gay show with silly stupid fans, but this show has so much fucking depth, and this video shows that. I don't even care that I may sound stupid, because I fucking love this show and all of it's fans. It's such a good show because of it''s hidden depth.

So many Americans have a very mixed heritage but we are judged only by the color of our skin. No one talks about the suffering every group went through. War and all of it happened and will continue to happen and those that want to keep the traditions alive that have the mixed heritage are denied. Not a single group in history is innocent of the same crimes.

England's face when America passed by the first time just screamed to me "What are you running from?" and when America was punching the wall Canadia was brought it to help but was shoved aside. Another cool thing about it was how you squeezed in the Revolutionary War! I can't believe something so awesome can fit into a 7 minute video. Cooler than Prussia

Here is a little theory I have about the clip 4:34 - 4:43 : I know that probably a lot of people have come to this conclusion already, but I didn't see anyone that posted it, so I figured I might as well. My theory is that Alfred is clearly upset about this, so he sees the people he hurt the most behind him after he feels one touch his shoulder. When he turns, however, he does not see them. He simply knows that they are there, because they are always there no matter how far away he runs. In his mind, he has the hope that those people will be right behind him, the way they were before war turned them into his enemies. After he turns and sees nobody there, his heart is broken all over again because he knows that no matter how hard he tries, they will never be those ghosts from his past that trusted him as blindly as he trusted them. Feeling defeated, he falls to his knees and just stays there until the end of the video. What I can imagine happening after the video is him staying on his knees for a while, and then someone from his past comes and tells him to get his act together and stand back up, because something good came out of everything bad.

I am literally sobbing my heart out. I love how this captures history and Hetalia. I also like how it shows deeper into America's character than just what's on the surface. Your costumes, acting, camera work, and the idea itself were flawless. This is one of the few cosplay groups that I am really satisfied with watching. I loved this, even though it was so sad. I just wanna go give everyone a hug but I can't because they're just anime characters. My heart actually feels broken and I feel aching loneliness inside. I have never imagined that you could do this with art, let alone cosplay! You have proved to the world, VandettACosplay, that anything is possible if you set your mind to it. You and your friends have put on an amazing performance for us KZbinrs, making us proud to watch it! Whoever has unliked this video is a person who just doesn't like art. Thank you so much for your time and effort that was put into the making of this video. Keep up the amazing work!

Wow at first I was like this is a sad CVM. But then I searched the lyrics in English and now I'm crying. I now know why this is one of the most watched hetalia CVMs. Great job!
