The situation is mostly unchanged as of Monday 16 October. Why are almost all the CSR SDA3 here instead of on freight duty? Only one (5113) have I seen working in the last couple of weeks.

Most of CSR SDA3 are currently waiting for the new spare part (mostly engines) since most of them were used too much during the past years and broke down. It needs to change spare parts but unfortunately SRT ordered the new spare parts so slowly. That’s why most of SDA3 still at Sri Racha not in operation.

For 5113 I’m also don’t sure why they can fix and use in operation. Right now there is also 5110 on freight duty but in North Eastern line.

Well, can we then assume the CSRs are of poor quality? The GEAs and Hitachis seem to go on forever only occasionaly needing repair in the workshop

Thank you so much for this information. Well, can we then assume the CSRs are of poorer quality? The GEAs and Hitachis seem to go on forever only occasionaly needing repair in the workshop. The lower powered CRRC CDA5B1s are doing a lot of freight work now and it doesn't look good for them either.@@napattsu1063

@@unseeninthailand-zu7yw No worries. But I think we can’t assume that CSRs are weaker than other locomotives. For Alsthom, Hitachi, GEA, they are doing both passenger train and freight train but for CSRs they are doing only freight train. Freight train is way more heavy duty compared to passengers train, a normal passenger train could be around 10-12 cars but for freight can go up to 30+ cars. Others locomotives have a chance to do both passenger and freight duty but CSRs are always with freight duty.
