While watering my Phalaenopsis orchids, I discovered that my Phalaenopsis Odorion suffered crown rot. I am going to treat the crown with cinnamon and hope the plant will produce a keiki, which is a baby orchid. My suspicion is that I missed some droplets of water that fell into the crown the last time I watered. Orchids are amazing and can come back strong, so I am very hopeful and confident a keiki will result for me to be able to continue to grow this beautiful orchid. My confidence is bolstered due to the stem appears OK and the orchid has healthy remaining leaves and very strong roots. I will continue to water and fertilize as normal. Stay tuned for updates as to the keiki watch.
