Blanca, I live in a beach community in North Carolina (Emerald Isle). It gets cold (20-30’s) in the winter, so what can I mount my orchids on? I’m not any expert in growing orchids (and I have no idea what kind of wood is good to mount on). Any suggestions are much appreciated. I do have a piece of cut cedar that’s about 2 years old and I do have living live oaks and a living 30 Ft holly tree. Would any of these work for mounting? I need to prune my trees, so wondering what you’d suggest. Thank you so much! You’re an amazing You Tuber! 😘😘

Barb Froede thank you so much!! You can mount orchids on pretty much any drift wood or natural wood plaque. When mounted they need some spagnum moss so they can stay hydrated. Roots attach pretty much to anything. They have even attached to my concrete walls. Any indoor tree that has a rough trunk will work. You would need to water them more frequent if you mount them bare root. 😊💕

joan nestor hi, yes!!! they are perfect they were the ones that got mounted on my palms. The leaves that got damaged fell off and new leaves eventually grew. 🤗

You hardly went up that tree at all! Here's me, having to climb a 10 foot ladder to put orchids in a tree. Although I am out of room on the limbs I can reach with that ladder. 😱
