This is the best iteration of Phantasm. Honestly, the partial transformation is really awesome, and the beam of light referring to when Sonic first transformed is a nice nod.

It, at least to me, implies there is a state where they could get along but with how chaotic and destructive fleetway is that balence can't be kept and as a result only appears when neither side is winning

This whole thing. It slaps. And I love the addition of the game over screen sprite, that really shows us how much Sonic is struggling with his inner demons. Great job!
