My grandparents owned a house on Broadmoor View in Oakland that shared a fence with the Dunsmuir House, (if you’re facing the front, Broadmoor View is on the left a bit farther back on the property. Close enough that from the balcony I could have thrown a rock and hit that gorgeous building. What a trip!!! Even more trippy is that I was talking with my little sister just this morning about that experience for the first time! In fact, when I was little, I’d get whupped for climbing the fence to explore! More than once, at night I’d just watch out the window for hours, scared sh**less because I’d heard a noise from that property and thought I saw something move in the dark… They sold their house in 1988, regrettably, so I’ve never been back since… But sheesh wow!!!!😮 Twilight Zone vibes from hell!

Always wondered why the Gate was in one place, the mauseleum in another and the cemetery in yet another. Scouts couldn't find a working location with all three elements
