I tried getting into PSO2NG but the upgrade system just confuses and frightens me.

@@ezodagrom Yeah, figuring out what gear is best, which stat set I should be looking for, it's a huge information overload and my caveman brain is not designed to withstand such math.

@@JustAnOldStone Ah. ^^; Well, stats wise, depends on your class/type of weapon. Should primarily focus on melee potency for melee weapons (weapon icons with orange background), ranged potency for ranged weapons (blue background), and technique potency for tech weapons (yellow background).

@@ezodagrom I main Ranger and Sub the katana/bow class whose name escapes me at the moment. I like being able to mix in Katana work but I feel like I might be doing it wrong and should be subbing something else. Besides that, thank you for the information! I'll give the game a reinstall and a second try later this evening, see if I can figure it out. Thank you very much for your kindness!

​@@JustAnOldStone Ranger with subclass Braver, you're going to need the skill "Special Ability Optimization BR" from the Braver skill tree. With this skill, you only need ranged potency augments for your weapons and units, thanks to this skill you're not going to need melee potency augments even for the katana, only ranged. ^^ The reason is that this skill converts the sum of all your augments in all your equipment and uses the highest between melee and ranged augments. Let's say, you have a total of 50% ranged potency and 15% melee potency, that skill will make even your katana use your 50% ranged potency instead of the 15% melee potency.
