​@@fearlessflyer03 facts. Love these guys and have turned friends on to them but ,they havent dropped anything great in a while. Three had a few good songs and ceremony even less. Nothing like nighife, EM, and voices. Never skip over anything from those.

@@12esinlung Agreed. To each their own if fans eat up the new stuff, but I feel people hear some decent rhythm, and automatically put nostalgia blinders on. It is just a tad too poppy for my taste, and I revisited Ceremony recently, and I actually like it better than Three at the moment. Eyelid Movies, and Nightlife are sort of companion pieces, with Voices just taking off into a much darker realm. It's not that I want a copy/paste of those albums, but I loved Phantograms sound, when they were mysterious, with heavier samples, and less hip-hop influence. But the new songs don't really do much for me.

Not to go full fantano but.... The new stuff since three has been just....meh. granted, I'd still rather listen to this than the current "top rated" artists pumping out total shite but ive been just listening and hoping for bangers that arent there anymore. Nightlife, eyelid movies, and voices are start to finish solid gold, unskippable tracks. The beats, the lyrics, just....🗣👌🏻 however, three was the start of a noticeable difference in sound. Funeral pyre, barking dog and answer were the only tracks I enjoy. Ceremony only has let me down and gaunt kids. Just doesn't have the old vibe. No hair raising, head nodding tracks. Sounds like generic pop id hear at the mall. Again, not a hater, love these guys and have gotten friends into them as well but i honestly will prob skip buying this one.

Maybe stop letting yourself be stuck in an artist’s past sound and try to enjoy it for what it is rather than comparing about what it isn’t. If you keep holding up everything to their old work you’re never going to enjoy anything. Artist’s change as they go on with time, you’ve got to stop holding onto the past. A negative mindset can really impact how you perceive new music. Phantogram are doing just fine. A difference sound isn’t a bad thing, it’s what artists should do.
