hi...How can I control the arduino servos with blender?
@arturoherrerialeon14042 жыл бұрын
Hi Tim. How many hours a day do you recommend to keep animatronics working to keep them safe ftom burning? And what servos you recommend. I mean, not too expensive gear. Thanks Arturo
@timhendriks932 жыл бұрын
Hi Arturo, I would really hope that you can run them constantly without such a risk. I've never ran my animatronics for more than a couple of hours (I think 6 was the longest), but never had any issues when doing that and they also weren't hot to the touch. For my builds I mostly used MG90S metal geared digital micro servos and for larger / heavier applications I used a 25kg digital standard servo.
@louabi75812 жыл бұрын
I am on a project which is simply to make the animatronics that you have recreated thanks to all the resources that you have made available (I am only at the crow for the moment). but as I realize that the 3d models are not up to date with the final result. What I mean is that they don't quite look like the ones shown in the video. I also have trouble understanding the mechanism of the jaw which seems to have been changed in the meantime because we see differences between certain extracts of the video (2:35 and 2:58).
@timhendriks932 жыл бұрын
The 3D model only includes the parts which were 3D printed. Due to the small size of the raven, I needed to use a tube with a wire (basically a bowden cable mechanism) which is pulled by a sub micro servo located near the tail. You're right that I needed to change the design a bit, so comparing the 2 timestamps in the video, you'll see that I moved the tube from the top of the head to the throat. This helped to increase the motion range of the head as the tube can now move more freely.
@louabi75812 жыл бұрын
@@timhendriks93 Thanks ! I put and it works ! I did not linked the head with the 2 other servos but the cable for the beak of the raven should be pliable right ?

Wow ziet er goed uit! Leuk dat je dit deelt. Hoe vertaal je de Blender bewegingen naar Arduino?
@timhendriks934 жыл бұрын

Hi Aron, sorry for the late response, but unfortunately I'm not actively using Discord and also want to focus on my approach to control animatronics based on a 3D model. Maybe you have already seen it, but I also released a video about my Blender Add-On which can be used to export animation data to servo control positions. There you can also find a link to the source code repository of the Add-On which also includes an Arduino example code file showcasing how you could build a program to use the animation data. Maybe this can help you get started with your pneumatic control system, too :)
