I actually believe both guns are pretty good but it's solely based on the map and your agent's role. If you're a duelist and you're required to rush in, I think phantom is better at close combat but if you're more of the "behind the team" type of player, vandal is good for you because of it's long range damage. Just my opinion tho

I think what was lacking was a knowledge of where the enemy team was playing but more so what they were doing every single round. Vandal team kept being aggressive as hell and flanking. Take out the flanks and you're a map up already. On Ascent the attackers were the defenders and the defenders were trying to take the site called "Attackers' spawn"

I switch depending on which side I’m playing (Attacker/Defender). I find I use Phantom more on Defense as a KJ main and Vandal for Attack. And sometimes… I just use my Phantom because it has the Spectrum skin on it 😅

I started playing val around act 2, ep 4. back then I used to only play unrated for fun and to learn about the characters. Back then, I used to be terrible. I have a vivid memory of a person yelling at me to uninstall the game once for being the worst your main of all time. After a bit of recovery and some more grinding, I finally build up the courage to play comp for the first time. After playing some comps, I got ranked iron 3. Ever since then, I had the goal to reach gold 1, to get out of elo hell and to prove to myself that I could be successful of at least 1 thing in life. For the past year and a half on multiple different accounts, I grinded and grinded all the way to silver 1, occasionally getting in gold lobbies (though I'm in b2 bc of the rank reset rn). Looking at current irons almost make me laugh, though at the same time, its a reminder, that I once was like them.

I don’t really like comp much so I don’t bother playing it. I don’t really want a higher rank . I just like being better. Some of my friends and cousins are plat and diamond and I see the difference when I play in normal matches when and I play with them . They are much better. I just try to aim and get better, don’t really care about ranks or wins/losses. Most people till bronze 3 are kinda the same. At bronze 3, slightly better but most people just crouch spray and die to stupid kj setups too.

It always amazes me (currently doing a total noob to immortal challenge) that so far (went from Iron 2 to bronze 3 and still climbing) nobody knows about the most basic economy of the game. Every round I would say "Okay guys, we won pistol so please force buy, feel free to buy full shield spectre, marshall, or a bulldog if you can afford it - don't buy phantoms/vandals" and I still find people saving that round or - "okay guys, this is round three, we're bonus-rounding, whatever you buy, just make sure you can fullbuy next round" and then they DROP their spectre and buy a phantom .-.)
