Killing people in a war is VERY DIFFERENT from murder. Not to mention that Raoul loved Christine before she met the Phantom. Besides, The Phantom doesn't just kill, he threatens to kill Raoul just so that Christine will stay with him. I think that's enough for a breakup.

The Phantom originally, from the book, had a full mask and the Andrew Lloyd Weber musical version intended to have the phantom in the full mask as well, but the director thought it would make expression onstage too difficult, so they changed it to the half-mask. All the promotional merch still has the logo with the full mask

in the first ever phantom of the opera the phantom's entire face was distorted. all of it. as the years went on in the movies at least the phantom's face became less distorted and better looking and thus his mask smaller. When phantom was a silent film the phantom's face was horrific

in some of the musicals the phantom can be seen wearing a full faced mask. or at least covering the upper part of his face. perhaps due to the trend or to make him look more menacing they made it to a half-faced mask throughout the years. it could also be a hidden meaning, where it shows that the phantom is a cynical, sociopathic maniac destined to get his way but has a softer side which he shows to cristine. that's just my thoughts :)

Could someone shed light on this..? How come all the coverart, etc for the Phantom of the Opera shows a full white mask, when the Phantom only wore a half mask? This even goes for the merchandise they sell at Majestic theatre for the ACTUAL broadway play. Am I missing something?
