I am a long time Courtney fan, since 2018. And I come from Te Awamutu, New Zealand, which is most famous for being the birth town for the Finn brothers, Neil and Tim, from bands like Split Enz and Crowded House. And I am seriously looking forward to her up and coming album.

This is really supeeer!!! My favorite bass guitar, drums and Courtney. She's the female version of Mick Jagger's energy, that's how I see it. And your reaction is great, in response to what we see and hear

Funny you should mention Mick Jagger. In an interview a couple of years ago, with fans asking questions, one question that came in was "What singer would Courtney most like to perform with?" Courtney asked "Living or dead?" When the interviewer decided that singers who had passed on were fair game, Courtney said "Tina Turner." She then went on to say what living singer she'd love to sing with: Keith Richards. I took that to mean that it's not so much that she prefers Keith over Mick (though maybe she did mean that). My interpretation is that, rather than sing with Mick, she wishes she could BE Mick. Because you're absolutely right about the energy.

@@IvankaVeselinovic Absolutely! Other than Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, and probably James Brown, Mick Jagger is the next singer Courtney Hadwin has been compared to most. Others are Etta James, Joe Cocker, Aretha Franklin, and occasionally Joss Stone and Alanis Morisette.

I'm sure Edward was frowning towards you all weekend, Paul. 🤨 But anyway, this is SUCH a great performance! Not just from Courtney, as always, but also the band, which is now tour-ready. (I'm sure that was the purpose of these live sessions.) They put their own stamp on this song. I think this is the best of the Metropolis videos, and we're all ready for a new album.

Great reaction! Yup the band gets into it most on my favorites, Christmas Rocks and Monsters and yup the guitarist looks more like Courtney than her real little sister does. Not that her little sister and brother aren't good looking kids too but Courtney's lucky, she looks the most like their beautiful mom. Not sure how many singles before the album but I never heard more than 4 and it might be less IDK. Thank you and have a great day!

Hi Paul. Cool reaction as always. Yeah, sorry I didn't message you. I've been absolutely swamped. 'Monsters' in it's original format is an incredible song, and it needs to be recognized for it's genius in it's own right. The vocals are incredible, the lyrics so deep and full of meaning about something that is universal. Courtney has said this song is about all of the self-doubt and insecurities that we all deal with. So, with nothing more, the song is spectacular. However, when Courtney is performing live, something just kicks in, and she is able to elevate to an exponentially different level. What is already spectacular becomes mind blowing. if you listen to this version of the song, as compared to the released version, you will notice that Courtney changed up a number of things in the song. That's what Courtney will give us. It's not going to be the robotic, cookie cutter performances that most artists deliver, where the song is identical every single time. No, Courtney will give us much more. The absolute musical joy of creativity and intensity, rather than the boredom of perfection. Every time she sings a song, it will be slightly different depending on her mood, the setting, the audience, etc. That's why I can say that I want a front row seat to every Courtney concert, because even if you heard the same show every night, each time would be it's own unique magical musical experience. Truly no greater live performer in music. Now we wait for the drop of Courtney's first album single, 'Spellbound', dropping in February. Iy sounds magnificent. If you want a little taste, Courtney has been dropping clips all over her social media. An appeal to all of your subscribers. Please pre-save 'Spellbound'. The more pre-saves, the more the music platform algorithms promote the song to a broader audience. Let's help turn 'Spellbound' into the rocket it deserves to be.

Courtneys song tell a story, kinda like a mini movie. She tells the story and once the narrative is done, she closes the chapter. That's why her songs are usually only about 2 mins long. She says what she wants to say and doesn't had bloat into it. I think the most of the band members are good together but I am not keen on the drummer, he doesn't seem to be that enthusiastic. No real emotion, no real movement. I hope she will check out Sina, she is a young drummer and she really makes those drums talk and she has emotion, too. From Chris.
@prakaklef8 күн бұрын
Did you know that Courtney and Sina know each other and Sina moved to London recently and Courtney has plans to move there? I do not know if they met in person though. It would seem strange if they haven't, all things considered. I kinda think if they were going to work together, it would have happened by now though. But Courtney's drummer is excellent. And Courtney and the pianist have enough personality to fill the stage😃
