Again thanks a lot for a simple and detailed explanation of milliosmoles & osmolarity. And after watching mEq video and this, I could make the difference between them.

May I ask, the last question with the percentage is looking for the osmolarity and not osmolality right?
@PharmaceuticalCalculationsEasy4 жыл бұрын
That is correct Maegan. There is a typo in the question. The question is asking for osmolarity and not osmolality. Thank you for watching and for the comment.

in the formula the mass is supposed to be in mg or g? because in your other videos it is shown as g of substance/ MW * No of particles *1000
@sylviakazi56295 жыл бұрын
exactly.... doesn't make a sence
@bradenjamora5 жыл бұрын
Might be late but I believe he used mg in the weight of the substance because he was solving for milliosmols, instead of just regular osmols. If using just grams, osmols would be found, but if using MILLI-grams, then MILLI-osmols would be calculated.

I have a question i hope you will have the time to answer. there are many substances that are measured in mmol/L, if we add them up then the plasma osmolarity would be more than 300 mosmol. I know there is such a thing as effective & total osmotic pressure. Can you explain in details please? Thanks!
