Graduated BSN in 2010. International graduate papers denied by CA board of nursing. Got discouraged. After 9 years of non medical related job I finally decided to take the test in another state. Got my papers approved. Quit my job. Studied for 3 months. Used many reviewers, one of which is PICMONIC. Passed my NCLEX first try in 2019. Now working as an RN and have to re-subscribe again to refresh my memory. Thanks picmonic! If you are an international graduate RN don’t waste your time applying for NCLEX in CA because after giving all paperworks that they asked from you and your school. 99% of the time they will just suggest that you go back to school or take LPN test instead. Move to a place who wants your hard work and service. Education cannot be taken away from you! Push forward! Work hard! God will do the rest for you!

In my pharmacology class, my professor said that angioedema is more of a problem with ACE inhibitors and if this occurs they would likely be switched to ARBs. This video says it's the reverse. Just wondering which is more correct so that I have it straight in my head.
@PicmonicVideoNursing2 жыл бұрын
Hey Kristen! Thank you for your comment! We sent this over to our team of scholars and they stated: According to Guyer & Banerji (2022), "Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors are the leading cause of drug-induced angioedema in the United States because they are so widely prescribed. Patients most commonly present with swelling of the lips, tongue, or face, although another presentation is episodic abdominal pain due to intestinal angioedema. Urticaria and itching are notably absent’. Even though both medication classes can cause angioedema, various studies have shown that there is a greater incidence of angioedema in those who use ACE inhibitors than in those who take ARBS. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8031276/#jch13097-sec-0005title www.ccjm.org/content/ccjom/80/12/755.full.pdf consultqd.clevelandclinic.org/ace-inhibitor-and-arb-therapy-practical-recommendations/amp/ We are going to correct the video to make this clear!
