Thank you so much, you are the best! May you please assist me with this question: 'What volume of a 2% w/v solution is required to prepare 200ml of a solution such that a 1 in 20 dilution will produce a 1 in 5000 solution?' The part that confuses me is I am not sure how many mls of the stock solution was taken out for the dilution. And also the 1 in 20 dilution part. Thank you so much Dr

Thank you for this .Answer should be 71.2ml for 3rd question it was a typo error ?

Good catch Sandeep. That is a typo. Units should be mL and not grams (g). Thank you for watching and for the comment.

sir i have a question. when the 100mL of a 1:125 w/v solution is diluted to a certain amount, is the quantity of the solute that is present in the 100mL of a 1:125 w/v solution going to change or it will remain the same?
@PharmaceuticalCalculationsEasy2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Ntage Sekgale for watching and for the comment. Regarding your question the answer is yes. The quantity of solute will remain the same after dilution. Only the volume of the solution changes. Hope this helps.

I was told a good analogy in Chemistry years ago: think of it as Ribena, when you dilute Ribena to whatever is right you still have XmL of Ribena before adding water, only the amount of water changes.

Please could you do a video on solving dilution questions that sayd things like is diluted 1 to 4 vs diluted 1 in 4
@Taiyella3 жыл бұрын
For exampe : You are required to extemporaneously prepare 300mL of morphine sulphate solution. In order to produce the solution, you dilute morphine sulphate 10mg/5mL solution 1 to 4 with purified water. What is the concentration of morphine sulphate in %w/v in the final prepared product? Give your answer to TWO (2) decimal places.
