Pharoah's music has been a revelation for me since 1970. I was fortunate to catch his unique sound in different venues through the years, from Detroit to San Diego. Sadly, we lost Mr. Sanders today, but his profound musical legacy will always live on. The journey continues....

This is the most beautiful piece I’ve ever heard. Ever since I heard it a few years back, it’s timeless. Period.

Pharaoh was the first musician to put me to real tears from his music, not because I was sad but because I was moved. Music at its most powerful and raw form. Rest well, it was all in the creators plan💚

NORBERT.

I came here because "'Uyama Hiroto plays "Farah" for Nujabes'" where Uyama played this in front of Nujabes grave got privated on youtube. I can understand the decision but it left some void. Its good to meet you all, united under tragedy but, I hope, hopeful for the future. Especially now, during these strenuous times, any sort of comfort is priceless. Im touched to the core :) I wish you all good luck !

Wow! I’ve been a pharaoh fan longer than I’ve known jun, since the samurai champloo days in around 08’ish and I never knew this was one of his favorite songs. I immediately watched the video you’re referencing of uyama after reading this and i got the warmest feeling in my heart that I’ve had in a while. It’s completely changed the way I listen to the song now, after thousands of times and more. Music that transcends. Rip nujabes.
@BarbeRace2 жыл бұрын
And so you're not interested at all by the album of Pharoah Sanders that nujabes take the samples from? And don't even say a word for Pharoah? Nice respect
@Mgaak2 жыл бұрын
@@BarbeRace well I didn't know that Sanders even existed prior to seeing video that I spoke about. Everyone has to start somewhere, why would you be offended by that ? Since then I had this exact song performed on my wedding during the "meet the guests" phase because of the joy it brings me. You've got nothing on me, man, and please do not succumb to that malice.
@BarbeRace2 жыл бұрын
@@Mgaak imagine you're an artist you've made a great album. An other artist takes a samples from one of your tracks, becomes famous, all the credit and recognition goes to the other artist who made a remix and not to the original artist. You can understand what triggers me here. Sry for my bad English.
@BarbeRace2 жыл бұрын
By the way here you're on the video of Pharoah, not Nujabes, but only very few people are curious enough or open minded to have recognition to the creator... But people are lazy I guess

I was so fortunate to get to play with Joe Bonner and feel a direct connection this beautiful and timeless music. missing Joe and Pharaoh. No one played like either of them, truly unique musical voices. Joe taught me so much!!! much love!!!!
@solarsoundsystem8 ай бұрын
In the same way that Pharoah is my favourite saxophonist, Joe is my favourite pianist. It's not the technicality, but the way he expresses himself. I can feel it. Incredibly sad that he's no longer with us, and isn't nearly as well regarded as he should be.
