I love the subliminals in the video though. Notice all the negative things get black/white highlights and the positive in color. From beginning to end, It suggests that these are things we should stay away from: It starts off with P cutting fresh vegetables in color, then transitions to fried foods in black and white, tea/coffee in color, then newports in black/white, black love in color then, then violence in black/white. The subliminals and lyrics in this video mesh well......genious!

This is the kind of positive music that doesn't get played on the radio and these are the types of videos that do not get played on m.t.v. Instead we are fed garbage about how women are hoe's, men ain't shit and how women should be hoe's to get those men who ain't shit. Real hip hop is not dead it's just placed behind a thick veil.

The radio would rather promote hate/death & material wealth than the unification of the human race & general positive vibes....that's why I haven't listened to the radio since late 80s/early 90s,plus the music they do play is garbage.I can listen to ignorant shit if the sound of real hip hop beats and proper dope lyricism is involved.HIP HOP LIVES UNDERGROUND!!!

The track is a response to the loss of connection we once had. Our Elders tried to instruct us to remind each other that we are a people apart, different, but together. We missed the last part. We fell apart, now things fall apart. Pharoahe is quite often ahead of his time, right smak in the middle of time, and pushing you ahead in time. With this one, he's pushin'. Pharoahe Monch, a MASTER in the Art form.

Man that video and song is real! It says a lot about us as a people. Black folks we got a lot of internal and external animosity towards each other for whatever reason but there's tons of love towards one another too when we can build and learn from one another. The young gotta stop disrespecting the older heads and pay respect and vice versa. We gotta treat our women better and the women do the same. We gotta be better fathers and examples for our kids and for the brothers that do I salute y'all. We gotta stop dissing each other cause somebody is light skinned and somebody else is dark skinned cause we all black people. The dynamic of the conversation gotta change too, we can't talk about 400 years of slavery when we averaging over 400 murders plus some throughout the country on black on black crime. The white man ain't killing us at a crazy rate we are and the white man don't dictate your success or failure in this country you do. Believe and know that you have control over your own destiny and life. I ain't trying to preach but I got a lot out of that song from 3 of my favorite MC's. The black hand side is extended, much love.

My guy is right about it not getting into rotation. It won't. Yes, the industry is to blame as they push pop culture & nothing else. The one thing that everyone seems to miss is that it's Rap music in rotation on the radio & videos... HipHop culture is still alive & there is some dope stuff out there if you're prepared to spend a little more time looking. Mass consumption drives the market... all we can do is keep finding these jewels & sharing them with as much people as we can. stay blessed

Rickards Red Aww man, I didn't even know. Well he's talented at both. Overall he's the best lyricist ever ( in my opinion of course ). Thanks for the update.

Peace to the film Five on the Black Hand Side. It was written by Charlie Russell , Bill Russell's older brother. This W.A.R is an amazing album.

Racism wont end if you wont let it.. Amazing how if a song came out called white hand side and it was about being white it would be racist

I think you are really missing the point and your comment affirms this. This has nothing to do with racism and everything to do with self love opposed to self hate. Black hand side is a variant of a hand shake/slapping hands (giving 5) and I should hope you understand what that is symbolic of.
