In this episode N.O.R.E & DJ EFN chop it up with the legendary #Pharrell Williams. This episode is a full circle moment in #DrinkChamps history as Pharrell and N.O.R.E. created one of Hip-Hop’s most iconic songs “Superthug”. The song was produced by The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams & Chad Hugo) and appeared on the platinum selling debut solo album “N.O.R.E.”.
In this episode N.O.R.E. & Pharrell share how “Superthug” was created and how their chemistry would lead to more hit records throughout the years.
Pharrell also talks Hip-Hop, fashion, politics and religion. And shares stories about Prince, Michael Jackson and the one and only Madonna.
Pharrell shares stories of working with Snoop Dogg, Justin Timberlake and fashion designer Nigo (Creator of BAPE). Fam-Lay also joins the conversation! #SkateboardP

Prince let Shock G remix a song as well as J Swift. I don’t think it was an ego thing but more so Prince knew that wouldn’t fit his style and would be a bigger hit for Pharrell.

@funkaholic1972 3 жыл бұрын
@@justinjordan67 I am a huge Prince fan and followed his every step closely since 1984. I am almost certain Prince didn't accept the song because he has this whole "written, arranged, perfomed & produced by Prince" thing going on , that is partly what his legendary icon status was built on. When Frontin' was offered to Prince he hadn't had a real hit in years and I am sure he wouldn't like it if people would start to say that he needed Pharrell to have a hit again. I think Frontin' would have definately fitted Prince's style and with the Jay-Z rap I am pretty sure it would have been a huge hit for him if he had agreed to do the song!

Pharrell hearing the story about Big calling Nore to be on TONY. Pharrell died. Then went on to give Nore a great idea for more than just writing down his top 10 but actually writing a vivid book. That’s the type of people you need to hang around. People whom which you inspire and are inspired by. And people who are positive and give you ideas on how to make your life better.

That's part of that humble in him. He gives other people the opportunity to shine, he doesn't mind sitting back and letting them get their say. Chooses his words carefully and doesn't say too much.
