What Ish doesn't understand is that even the quality of their musical productions has been impacted by their separation. As a huge TheNeptunes/N*E*R*D fan, you can definitely hear the difference when Pharrell is producing alone or with Chad. Pharrell is more into hiphop/funk when Chad is more electro/rock/pop. And the last joints recently produced by Pharrell alone lack a lil bit of creativity for me (Pusha T last album for example). This Chad's "alien sound synth" is missing sometimes...

@@jonjackson2177 I blame the split plus them going from analogue gear to DAWs. Used to sound warm and of course innovative. Now whether it's them rarely collaborating together or just P, it sounds good, but stale/thin.
@ggeessttaalltt

@@ronniesnakehissiii9413 most of their sounds are just korg triton presets, which was a digital and primarily sample based workstation. not much different from the audio that comes out of your computer. in fact, there’s a basically perfect emulation of it available for modern DAWs with all the same sounds. it’s less the sound or quality of sound but more the creativity in selecting and combining ones that are individually unremarkable, their usage of minimalism, and their deceptively simple songwriting. all of these traits are very “out of fashion” in pop now unfortunately and have fallen by the wayside across the industry.

@ggeessttaalltt
@ggeessttaalltt 6 ай бұрын
@@jaimerodriguez1550 sure, unavoidably so - but I can guarantee you that running a triton through a console preamp or some expensive compressor in a studio rack wasn’t the secret to their sound or success. the mixes on their tracks back then aren’t any better, or more saturated and warm than the tracks Pharell produces today. their sauce at that time period was all in the craft and their ears as musicians and producers. the limitations of hardware at the time might have contributed to them coming up with creative solutions and using sounds they might not today, but I think it’s silly to attribute their success to their signal chain. I think people romanticize artists’ tools too much, and overestimate the power and sound of “analog” workflows, when really it’s all about hard work and having taste and skill that other people don’t.

Same song different times and eras. Tribe went through it, N.W.A went through it, EPMD, Wu, Mobb Deep, Black Sheep, etc. Hip-hop groups that started off with friendships and have been ten toes down since their youth can have a wedge drawn between them because of fame and stardom, ego, and especially money. Been listening to The Neptune's since the early 2000s when I was living in Oahu, Hawaii. Their sound was different and refreshing. A lot of their success is based on the friendship, creativity, and ideasvthey've had since they were kids...I hope Pharrell and Chad can get back to that.

The characterization that Pharrell tried to cut Chad out is debatable. Chad’s lawyers are saying that Pharrell’s team didn’t include him in the filings but Pharrell’s lawyers said they contacted Chad and his team several times and got no response. And anyone who has been following The Neptunes knows Chad is notoriously hard to get in contact with and rarely talks publicly or does interviews. Hopefully, this sorts itself out because they are both legends.

Lol. You said alot of nothing that makes no sense. You are acting like you know these people. How would chad be hard to get in touch with when Pharrell knows his lawyers, knows his address, and can get someone who is closer to him since they having this girl scout beef to get in touch with him. That sounds as dumb as when executives tell me that they are travelling next week so they will be out of the loop and cant correspond while travelling. Like they said, its a simple fix, Pharrell filed the paperwork and now chad lawyer is saying put his name on it. It only cost a couple of bucks to add someone name to a legal document and that would solve the issue but for some reason Pharrell would rather argue this nonsense and have his bodyguard Pusha make statements about it instead of simply adding dudes name as he should have done in the first place

Some issues under the radar between the two of them have been going on for years. It dates way back to 2006 when Pharrell dropped the In My Mind album, (which was supposed to have dropped in 2005 but wasn’t fully complete til 2006) which was his first labeled production he did all by himself. Chad went on to produce other artists’ albums by himself as well, so in all actuality, they both split back in the earlier ‘00s.

Foreign entities are buying up HipHop labels and catalogs at a rapid rate. Well, American music, period. Even Taylor Swift has been calling it out. Even some of the classic HipHop catalog is now South Korean owned (via Scooter Braun though). I can totally see why Pharrell’s team would feel the need to file something expeditiously. Esp given their label woes in the early 2000s, there may be loose ends out there that they felt it CANNOT wait for Chad to get on the same page. “Act now, apologize later.” I can also see Chad being in his bubble, difficult to get in contact with in a timely manner. But, I can also see BOTH of them being in their KanYe bag… basically so focused on being creative that they not really closely, Closely watching what the lawyer is ACTUALLY doing.. versus what he’s telling him he’s doing. AND, It Could also be that Pharrell feels like, you fell back, I’m out here pushing and defending the brand. It Could be SO MANY THINGS….. I just choose to draw no conclusions and just hope they get it worked out and pop up together soon.

Chad honestly doesn't seem like he could have that ego. Don't forget where you came from P, you were one of my idols. And still are if you keep yourself humble.

Pharrell has always been somewhat of a wave rider. His whole skateboard persona and aesthetic came from his brother. Pharrell himself was never a skater like that. Also a lot of his style was influenced by his frequent collaborator Nigo, the founder of Bape. Nigo was also helped create Pharrell’s BBC Ice Cream. I’m not saying Pharrell isn’t creative or he didn’t contribute a good deal to records. But he was definitely more of a face for the people he surrounded himself with.

Keep it business, split everything half and half. There should never be no third party entity in a partnership business and endeavors. Both party management and attorney's, CFO's, CEOs, et al., involved to fix this mess and putting frivolity in the media space rather go talk business and not mess with a friendship and partnership that is benefiting everyone. If not dissolved the whole entities and nobody can used the names and any and all entities affiliates. Everyone can go do them if this messy mess is not resolved.

I beleive Pharell is trying to relaunch or do.some kind of Project under the Neptunes name, either because its going to be related to content from that Neptunes era or he is producing new content but knows Chad wont get involved, and he knows Neptunes brand has more authenticity and value than jist Pharell alone. Therefore, him trying to pull the quick one on Chad with the Neptunes brand.

There's a reality that for the past like decade+, well over 90% of any "The Neptunes" tracks is Pharrell solo producing. If it isn't NERD or Justin Timberlake, it's pretty much just Pharrell. Check the credits. "P. Williams" is on everything. "C. Hugo" shows up once in a blue moon. This suit is easily the most interest Chad has shown in anything Neptunes related in like 15 years.

The Neptunes haven't made a decent beat together since 2005. Pharrell went solo from 2006.. Both his solo albums flopped big time.. Last 2 n.e.r.d albums have bern 💩 💩 💩 I felt like Pharrell took over entire sound production Lemon was absolute 💩 💩 💩 Didn't sound nothing like n.e.r.d Just sounded like Pharrell doing his own s..t

I think 1999 - 2009 was their best run. Superthug from Nore opened doors from them. They owned the 2000s and was on a run from 2002-2006. Slowed down when Pharrell start going solo. Timbaland still got that 🔥 though

There is some credence to attorneys trying to milk conflicts though because a lot of divorces could be fixed and properly settled even outside of court but attorneys love those attorney fees. So I'm not completely ruling out that an attorney in this situation could have gotten just as greedy but Pharrell is definitely wrong for not coming directly to Chad first and making it very clear and known what his intentions were if he really wanted to keep Chad in the loop.
