I can't even express how much this man has helped me navigate early adulthood through his music and philosophy. Growing up in the hood in LA, black kids weren't really "allowed" to be into skateboarding or ska music or anything that went against the grain, without being scrutinized or ostracized from the group. N*E*R*D- Fly or Die is still my all-time favorite album, it helped me through college when I felt alone and misunderstood. I learned that it's ok to be different, and to not be ashamed of it.
