According to the manual, (closest to this engine is the SSR Lazer 5), you should change the oil at the 200 mile mark. Then again at the 600 mile mark, after that every 1500 miles. Also during breakin vary your speed, try not to just ride at one low speed or at a high speed for a long time.

Beau, I don’t have a bike , but I’m addict to mechanics videos .congratulations for helping us understand. It occurs to me that it would be a good idea if you write some kind of manual for different kinds of bikes with the changes to improve in any way , this bikes. I’m sure ,many of us would buy it. Rear wheel now costs $200. Comes with sprocket and brake disk. Sikk Bikes are very forgetful. It is best to always stay on top of your order. They don't call back, just keep calling every couple of days to make sure that they get your tire or anything else you need. I agree on your tips. I'd also go ahead and lock tight the bolts for the chain cover. Had mine come off mid drive to work. As well as the bolts for the batter cover, both sides. Also, when you get your bike, tighten down the nuts for the overhead cam. Destroyed the gasket and was leaking oil where the cam met with the engine. I believe that the bike does come with a gas filter, just best to upgrade that cheap thing. I've upgraded my carb to a JCMoto 19mm carb. Need to re-jet it. Doesn't stay on at start up, and bogs when pulled full throttle quickly. Yes, I have adjusted it. I also replaced the ignition switch with an OTOHANS AUTOMOTIVE 4 Wire Pin Key Ignition Switch. As well as the ignition coil with a 1PZ P80-CW1 Ignition Coil. Now just need to figure out how to add a permanent headlight as well with which one, as well as permanent tail lights. Yes, I'm kind of stupid as to how to install these.

Smiley PB makes a very good point about checking all bolts for tightness. After a few run/stop and heat/cool cycles things become loose. With a new bike I always spend the time to check fasteners for tightness. Every single one, including on the engine, cam cover, exhaust at engine and muffler bracket, carburetor and manifold bolts, engine mounting bolts all worked loose to a degree on my bike. Just always check the fasteners at frequent intervals and you should avoid any major problems. It is the case with the stock carburetor, it will now allow you instant full throttle with out bogging, After quite a few miles on mine I have opened up the air/fuel screw to allow more gas and it has helped. Once you take off and achieve say 5 mph you can then twist it up and it doesn't bog to bad. I don't know if it needs a bigger jet or what. My stock carburetor is a Keihen 19 mm, it is a good quality carburetor. The PZ 19 is a replacement carburetor/ with non cabled choke. The coil is a 5 pin unit. For the headlight, I have a wiring diagram, to add a tailight it is the same as wiring in the headlight. To add a brake light and turn signals is more complicated. But the headlight is simple, but you must follow basic automotive wiring to make it bulletproof and not cause electrical issues.

@@beaubrummelmotorizedbicycles I’m currently on vacation but my new sikk ped was delivered yesterday. So I’ll begin building tomorrow or Tuesday. I’m thinking I’ll spend the big bucks and get the twisted thumb headlight and mounting bracket. If yo have time, could you share wiring diagram/instructions for the headlight?

@@alanschroeder6913 Since I haven't re-jetted the carb I haven't had any increase in performance. The key ignition had to be changed out, because the stock one is cheap, and the wires on the back will short. Making it completely useless. Best to find a good quality key ignition right away. On my 3rd one and has been working great since April. The ignition coil again was due to my stupidity of not turning off the kill switch trying to start up the bike. That was a real pain in the @ss to due.

Sorry, the Sikk Ped is out of production, they sold the last ones in December of 2023. So you'll have to find one used, and being they where only in production from 2018 to 2023 they are rare. My advice is be ready to purchase with the money and even driving some distance when one does come up for sale. They are very rare and highly sought after.

It’s unbelievable to me that the bike doesn’t come with any instructions or specifications manual. Really annoying. That said, how did you decide to start using the Lucas semi synthetic wet clutch oil.

True, no manual, etc. But on top of the engine box, there was a hand written note in large block letters saying, "You must use 10 W - 40 motorcycle oil only". I am familiar with the engine platform and small engines in general so I knew it had a wet clutch and basically car oil is taboo in a wet clutch. In fact it is sub standard to any motorcycle oil for motorcycle engines. As far as the Lucas brand, I have been using their products for decades and after my break in I decided the semi-synthetic was a good choice. After every oil change the oil has been very clean and as clear as when I first put it in. As more hours get put on engine and as clutch wears it'll start to show the dirt, but for now it is clear.

I run 20 psi. When I first got the bike I ran 30 psi. But 20 psi seems to smooth out the bumps much better. 30 psi is the max.

No, it is a factory made bike, produced in limited numbers between 2018 and 2023. They are no longer being offered for sale. The company Sikk Bikes inc. decided to concentrate on their main business which is selling fat tire beach cruiser bicycles. So if you want one, you need to be on the look out for one to come up for sale.

No, the bike was sold as a complete unit, no frames were ever offered for sale. The engine is a 49 cc Honda clone.with built in pedals to meet most States legal requirement for a motorized bike.@@nicos9937

whats the top speed ?

Mine has maxxed top speed of 42 mph. That is wound up and pushed to the limit of the rpm's. i weighed 190lbs. at the time, so weight is a factor. One person who weighs in around 130 lbs. got his to 45 mph. You can't substain that for very long. It cruises nice at 25 to 35 mph, with 30 being real comfortable.

Strong compared to what? They have a billet hub, sealed bearings ( not bicycle ball bearings) a 9/16" axle, 11 gauge spokes. They are not motorcycle wheels but plenty strong.
