Scientist is the person who conducts scientific research and invents [Real time] in the particular field of interest (Example: ISRO Scientist). PhD is the degree obtained through research. PhD holders are not scientists.

That depends upon the particular university's norms. Some universities will not permit the persons those who are working in other state in part time mode. I suggest you to go through particular university's phd regulation. You will find it there very clearly.

In my opinion you can do PhD in Economics. Most of the universities will permit the students to register PhD based on PG subject only. If you choose other discipline it will be considered as interdisciplinary. It is not wise to do the PhD in commerce. After PhD you will be looking for job (teaching). At that time you PhD will be in commerce and your PG subject will be in Economics. That may be a problem to you at that time. In my opinion you can do PhD in Economics.

Happy to see your interest towards PhD. First you need to complete PG degree to register for PhD programme. As you are doing 10th standard, study well and get more marks. Further, in your college studies choose the subject geography so that you can do PhD in Geography.
